What’s the overall theme / general inspiration behind the 2016/17 outerwear?
Being a UK based brand, it is important that whilst being functionally fit for purpose on the mountain, our customers also need to feel comfortable in the city on cold wet winter days too. Whilst we take our winter sports seriously here, we also realize that our customers’ needs are not just for the slopes and this understanding is reflected in the versatile looks seen throughout the range. 

KEY PRODUCT FOCUS: What are the two most important products of your 2016/17 line? Why? Tell us about them please.
Chamonix Jacket:
The Chamonix jacket, costing £195, is a feature packed offering at this price point. The jacket sports a parka silhouette with fishtail and zip out faux fur trim, 10k/10k waxed outer shell and fully taped seams. On the inside we have made sure you stay comfortable this year by using Thinsulate™ insulation throughout, maintaining warmth but reducing bulk. In addition, you also get an integrated snow skirt with pant fasteners, YKK® water repellent zippers, tricot lined hand warmer pockets, audio cable ports and cuff gaiters.

Gryon Pant:
Our Gryon pant (£100) has a relaxed casual fit this season and comes in black with tonal branding and gaiters. The pant features a soft polyester dobby fabric with DWR outer surface coating and a 8k/8k milky lamination, fully taped seams, YKK® zippers, zip leg vent, zip opening hems, brushed tricot waist facing and 100gsm insulation. Meaning you will stay warm and dry all day.

What type of client are you targeting with this collection? 
Our customers are a cross-section of the British public, so we aim to offer a functional and on trend product. We want to create garments our team riders can rely on all season and that our core customers can use both on their winter escapes and day-to-day life.

Are your price points going up or down?
We have worked hard to try to maintain our price points this year and have been able to achieve this throughout the collection, with the exception of a small increase in our top line jacket, which follows the increased spec.

What’s new in colours / prints?
The colours this year for our snow line are very much aligned to our lifestyle collection. A mix of earthy natural tones such as burgundy and burnt orange, in juxtaposition to modern neon safety yellow and bright blues. 

Are you introducing any new technical stories that you haven’t offered to retailers previously.
For us, the big thing this season is increasing our offer of warm and dry clothing for a British winter. We have added Thinsulate,™ for warmth without bulk, to products such as shirts, knitwear, hoodies, and jackets. We have also increased our offer of laminations and water repellency throughout our lifestyle outerwear line.

What’s the overall theme / general inspiration behind the 2016/17 outerwear?
Being a UK based brand is always an essential source of inspiration, whilst creating outerwear that is functionally fit for purpose on a mountain or out in the wilderness, we also want our customers’ to look and feel at home in the city on a cold and blustery winter’s day. Although we take our winter sports seriously, we also realize that our customers’ needs go beyond the mountain slopes. 

KEY PRODUCT FOCUS: What are the two most important products of your 2016/17 line? Why? Tell us about them please.
Soren Jacket:
Our Soren jacket (£195) is a feature packed offering for this price point. We like to ensure our female customers have the same level and features as found throughout the menswear line. This Jacket incorporates a longer-line parka silhouette with fishtail and zip out faux fur trim, 10k/10k waxed outer shell and fully taped seams. This year, internally, we have used Thinsulate™ insulation throughout, ensuring you stay warm and comfortable without adding bulk. In addition, you also get an integrated snow skirt with pant fasteners, YKK® water repellent zippers, tricot lined hand warmer pockets, audio cable ports and cuff gaiters.

Villarz Pant:
The Villarz pant (£100) has been slimmed down this season, giving a sleeker, on trend, silhouette. It comes in black with mint branding and gaiters. The pant features a soft polyester dobby fabric with DWR outer surface coating and a 8k/8k milky lamination, fully taped seams, YKK® zippers, zip leg vent, zip opening hems, brushed tricot waist facing and 100gsm insulation. Meaning you will stay warm and dry all day. 

What type of client are you targeting with the collection.
Our customers are a cross-section of the British public, so we aim to offer a functional and on trend product. We work closely with our team riders to ensure they have product that they can rely on all season, whilst also offering our core customers garments they can use on their winter escapes, as well as day-to-day life. 

Are your price points going up or down?
We have worked hard to try to maintain our price points this year and have been able to achieve this throughout the collection, with the exception of a small increase in our top line jacket, which follows the increased spec. 

What’s new in colours / prints?
The colours this year for our snow line are very much aligned with our lifestyle collection. A hand-drawn blanket stripe features as the AOP this season. Winterberries and the natural colours that surround us inspire the colour range; deep purples, inky navies and khaki with fresh accents of bright mint.

What new technical stories are you introducing that you haven’t offered previously?
For us the big thing this season is augmenting our offer of warm and dry clothing, perfect for a British winter. We have added Thinsulate™ for warmth without bulk and we have also increased our offer of laminations and water repellency throughout our lifestyle outerwear line.
