What’s the overall theme / general inspiration behind the 2016/17 outerwear?
Our theme has been to produce multifunction performance outerwear to allow our customer to get more use from our products. Our FW16 range is all new in every way with new designer’s and a new approach. Our 16/17 range is our most technical ever with the bulk of our range moving up from 10K to 20K.

KEY PRODUCT FOCUS: What are the two most important products of your 2016/17 line? Why? Tell us about them please.
Our 30K Cove jacket and Birch bib pant are something we are really proud of, high performance, super lightweight and very comfortable. Combine these with our new merino base layers and packable down vest or packable down jacket and you have a great performance setup for touring/splitboarding and long days on the mountain. These have been tried and tested by our team guys and the feedback has been very positive so far. We have also introduced 20k/20k performance stretch fabric in our new Walsh jacket and Hunter pant and the feedback has been superb, great performance and great freedom of movement.

What type of client are you targeting with the collection?
We have been really careful not to push all the range at one particular customer group! We have kit suitable for somebody on their first winter trip with our entry level 10K and streetwear, right through to the rider looking for high level performance for long days on the mountain hiking, splitboarding.

Are your price points going up or down?
All our price points have gone up but for a very good reason, everything has improved with the FW16 range! We have all new fabrics, higher quality trims and with the bulk of the range moving up from 10K to 20K, we feel our price points are spot on.

What new fits / silhouettes will you be showing, in pants & jackets?
We have completely reworked to the fit on all our pants, we have been proud of our famous Upperlevels pants over the years but it was time for a change. We still offer a slim fit and straight leg pant but the cut and fit are all new, we have also introduced our new 20k/20K stretch fabric in out slim fit Hunter pant …probably the most comfy pant you will ever wear. As well as pants we have introduced our Forbes rider hoodie, a long fit oversize hoodie made from double faced grid backed fleece with thumb loops, adjustable hood, pit ventilation and DWR, a really great all rounder for spring riding or as a second layer.

What new technical stories are you introducing that you haven’t offered to retailers previously?
Our stretch jacket and pants in both men’s and women’s styles are something we have not offered previously, the freedom of movement and comfort achieved in these products is far beyond anything we have done in the past and we will be looking to introduce more

BASE LAYER BOX OUT: Do you do baselayers? What’s happening here, what’s your key new offering next year and what makes it great?
We have introduced our new Merino collection for 16/17 offering a long sleeve top, baselayer tee and baselayer boxer short all available in three colours.

One of our main pieces in the 16/17 womens outerwear line is our new 20k/20k performance stretch fabric in our new Cascade jacket and Amery pant. The new fabric is light and soft with great performance and the feedback has been superb, as comfy as wearing yoga pants so we are told, great freedom of movement.
