What is THE hot new trend in your goggle line for FW17/18?
Technology: We have entered an era where the consumer is demanding a goggle loaded with features and benefits. We have continued to introduce new technologies in quick change lens systems in the Axis & Ella models as well as introducing new venting materials. What we are most excited about is our Lens technology “VIVID” which we have developed with Zeiss to provide the best contrast and performance enhancing lenses in the market.
Lenses: What are your most popular tints? Are there any technical innovations to talk about for next season?
We are introducing our new “VIVID” lens developed with ZEISS to enhance contrast and increase performance. VIVID lens is scientifically tuned to enhance colour contrast, accentuate contours and variables in terrain, while reducing eye fatigue, and increasing reaction time. The “VIVID” lens is available starting at $100 in the Blok and up through the line to the Contact. The Lens is available in 6 Everyday/Sun lenses and 1 cloudy/lowlight option.
Are you doing spherical or cylindrical or both versions?
“VIVID” is available in Injected cylindrical and Toric lenses.
Frames: What system(s) are you working with?Any innovations / new features here?
We have implemented new venting materials into our Contact and Axis/Ella models, to help with moisture management, Venting, and durability. We have also created a new lens change system in our Axis & Ella models utilizing locating magnets and a press fit secure system. Allowing for a clean frameless EXV design. We wanted to introduce a new look for GIRO to engage the millennial market where they want great styling but still comes with all the tech they need. The other key aspect was to develop a goggle with a specific price point in mind redefining what features and benefits the consumer should receive at this price point.
What about the colour and pattern highlights for 17/18? Are they tied to other parts of your range / product offerings?
For 2018 we really tried to make sure to tell a complete stories throughout the line. Focusing on the colour pallet and materials that connect to a specific audience. Providing pieces that connected to all audiences with visual and tactile cosmetics. We then made sure that the story was tied from the goggle back to helmet to complete the look.

AXIS (Unisex) and ELLA(Women’s) – MSRP $170, Medium fit EXV frame, Injected Cylindric Zeiss lens, utilizing VIVID lens technology. Comes with installed VIVID lens and bonus VIVID infrared lowlight lens. Quick change lens system using two locating magnets and press fit secure system. Includes new vent materials providing, moisture management, venting, and durability. The goggle is also OTG friendly.
ELLA- includes Womens specific face fleece
ROAM (Unisex)/ MOXIE (Women’s) – MSRP $60, MedIum fit EXV frame, thermoformed cylindrical lens. Comes with installed Flash lens and bonus lowlight yellow lens. OTG friendly.
