In 2016, Columbia outdoor clothing company announced that they would be launching the opportunity to become a Director of Toughness for the brand. This seemingly dream job would involve travelling the world whilst testing out Columbia’s products in some less than favourable weather conditions. The brand have now released the edit of the second mission which sees the DOT’s taking on the Yukon Territory in Canada.
Press Release: You might have heard about the dream job opportunity to become a Columbia Director of Toughness – a chance to travel the world and test out Columbia’s kit in some of the world’s harshest terrain and weather conditions!
November last year, Columbia announced the two winners of the job – one of them being Britain’s very own Mark Chase! Meet the new DOT’s here.
Mission #1 brought Mark and his DOT partner Faith Briggs from the U.S back to Mark’s home country, beginning in Manchester at Old Trafford stadium. Mark and Faith met with sporting legend Denis Irwin and suddenly, what started as a cold game of football turned into a serious bet. The loser takes a dip in the freezing Joksulasn Glacier Lagoon! From Manchester, the new DOT’s set off to Iceland to really get testing!
Check out the video from Mission #1 here.
Mission #2 sends Mark and Faith to the Yukon Territory in the Northwest of Canada. In below freezing conditions they were left alone to survive on a frozen lake.
Stay tuned for the next video, for Mission #3 being released in March.
