EuroSIMA has launched the 2017 EuroSIMA Innovation of the Year Award contest, which rewards the best innovation of the year in the Action Sports industry (surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding, kitesurfing, wakeboarding, stand-up paddle, etc.). The contest is open to all EuroSIMA member companies.
The EUROSIMA Innovation of the Year Award was created in 2007 to highlight Action Sports companies’ abilities in terms of innovation.
Open to all EUROSIMA member companies, this contest rewards innovative products or services in the Action Sports industry (surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding, kitesurfing, wakeboarding, stand-up paddle, etc.). Only finished projects that have reached the market in Europe within the year may submit an application.
10 YEARS OF INNOVATION
In 10 years, EUROSIMA has rewarded the most diverse innovations out there: from an artificial wave generating system to the tide watch or even the fast drying wetsuit or the eco-friendly surfboard, to name but a few.
In 2016, the neoprene-free surf wetsuit Yulex by Patagonia took the prize for its considerable contribution towards the industry by taking wetsuits to the next level!
A JURY EXPERTS
The jury of experts includes representatives of academic, scientific and environmental institutions as well as members of specialised media in Europe and sports professionals. The jury meets in mid- September to study all submitted applications.
The jury’s decision is based on the following criteria: the project’s level of innovation, its environmental performance and its market potential.
The Waterman’s Ball, which will be held on October 6th, 2017 in Hossegor is a great opportunity to celebrate innovations that have stood out during the year. The contest winner shall be handed the prize during the ball, including 5000 € in prize money as well as the opportunity to get a European communication campaign set up for free.
Applications for the 2017 EUROSIMA Innovation of the Year contest can be downloaded online at www.eurosima.com. All applications must be completed and sent in before September 7th, 2017 and include a sample of the innovation in question.
