The North Face have recently signed two of the biggest names in women’s snow sports to its global athlete team. 2017 Freeride world snowboard champion, Marion Haerty, and backcountry freeride skier, Evelina Nilsson will be supported by the brand on competitions and trips going forward and will wear the brand’s Steep Series and snowsports apparel lines.
Press Release: London, England: 29th November 2017 – The North Face® has added two of the world’s most exciting female snowsports athletes to its global athlete team, welcoming 2017 freeride world snowboard champion, Marion Haerty, and backcountry freeride skier Evelina Nillson.
As well as supporting their competitions and expeditions, both riders will wear the brand’s Steep Series and snowsports apparel lines.
Originally learning to snowboard on the slopes of Chamrousse, near Grenoble, last season, Marion took home one of the biggest prizes in freeride snowsports, becoming the 2017 Freeride World Champion. After a season of podium after podium places, she finally clinched the title at the Xtreme Verbier. Only 25, she has big hopes for future competitions whilst feeding her thirst for exploration with trips to Patagonia and Nepal in the pipeline.
Evelina grew up in Luleå in the north of Sweden, later moving to the famed Swedish ski resort of Åre. In recent years, she’s impressed with eye-catching displays in the Freeride World Tour and the thrilling Shades of Winter movie. Exploring the world is what drives her. Travelling the globe in pursuit of game-changing ski adventures, new friendships and the creative and spiritual fulfilment she craves.
“The brand is so stoked to have brought two of the most talented and exciting female athletes in the world onto The North Face team. Marion and Evelina are fine examples of what we promote and represent as a brand in snowsports – two people who continually push the limits of their sports on, not just in competition, but by exploring the world, inspiring others and living their dreams.” said Vicki Bohlbo, Brand & Retail Director at The North Face.
“Athlete Tested, Expedition Proven is a slogan that we live by at The North Face. Both of these athletes will play a key role in the development of our products, working closely to gather invaluable feedback and take our female snowsports lines to the next level entirely.”
