Nixon Celebrate All Things ‘Weird’ With Unique Shaping Contest In UK

To celebrate all things ‘weird’, Nixon brought together six of the most respected shapers from the UK with one goal: to hand-shape a weird (but functional) surfboard in just two hours!

The Nixon event was held in St Agnes Cornwall and the rules were very simple: the shapers were given two hours and the board had to be made entirely by hand. Each shaper was given a specific element to work with e.g. finless, single fin, super short etc but apart from that it was up to them to use their skills and creativity to create something weird and wonderful.

The boards were then given to some great surfers who battled it out in front of judges in a contest with the winner walking away with a handful of cash.
