Vans X Lockwood Collaboration

In skateboarding history, Lockwood Avenue Elementary School (Los Angeles) is a place of myth, which made enough of an impression on Sven Aerts to name his skate shop after it in 1996.

A little over twenty years later, Vans and Lockwood are proud to present a special collaboration release of the Pro Skate, Sk8-Mid and Authentic models, honouring this legendary spot and all it embodies: Raw, urban grit. Finding, scoping and claiming new spots, jumping fences, trespassing… the outlaw spirit of skateboarding.

To break the shoes in, OG founder Sven —who skated Lockwood during its heydays— took energetic Lockwood and Vans Europe team rider Yeelen Moens on a nostalgic trip to (re)discover Los Angeles’ most infamous school grounds. Two generations of Lockwood riders, taking two unique Vans Pro Skate shoe models back to their source of inspiration. Lockwood goes Lockwood, Off The Wall, and over the fence once again.

Both shoes were designed by Antwerp based graphic designer Ben Boliau and feature a distinct Skydiver Blue and Silver Sconce colourway inspired by the city of Los Angeles. A repeating chain link fence pattern with subtle drop shadow echoes the trademark Vans Waffle sole and directly references the iconic Lockwood Elementary school grounds (and the fence you have to climb to access them).

The Vans x Lockwood collaboration is available now across select Vans Pro Skate retailers in Europe.
