QUIK EUROPE HQ EXTENDS PREMISES06 Mar 2008
Work on the extension has been assigned to Patrick Arotcharen, the Architect who designed Quiksilver Europe’s current head offices. The campus, created in 1998, was awarded the Prix grand Public de l’Architecture in 2003 and it was only natural that Quiksilver would turn again to him for their new venture. In order to respond to how the group has evolved in Europe, Quiksilver opted to double its headquarters’ surface area, with an additional 7,000m². “Quiksilver Europe has progressed well with over 50% accumulated growth over the last three years. Thanks to the hard work and creativity of its team, Quiksilver Europe has huge potential and we wanted to make sure that the entire group was gathered together in a single location. This extension will allow each of our brands to develop in its own way,” reports Pierre Agnes, CEO of the Quiksilver Europe Group. Relaxation areas (a sports hall, beach volleyball courts, a skatepark and a sports wall…) will be available to all personnel and will help enhance the synergies between the teams. Since respect for the environment is a vital factor for Quiksilver, the project team has called on the service of a HQE® (Haute Qualité Environnemental – High Environmental Quality) consultant, to ensure that this standard’s 14 targets are optimally met. The management of worksite problems (waste, water management…), harmony between buildings and the environment, energy management and visual comfort have especially been taken into consideration.
