Thierry Kunz is appointed Marketing Director Europe. He will assume this job previously held by Brett Chittenden, in addition to his present role as Business Unit Manager Snow, in which he will continue until the end of 2008.
Recruited in November 2007 to define and roll out a Europe-wide snow strategy, this ex-professional Freestyle rider, previously Quiksilver ambassador and official consultant to the TSR for snowboard, made good use of his strong knowledge of board sports by founding and managing Donuts Snowboards for eight years. He then joined Nidecker SA as international marketing director, a position he would hold for five years before joining the teams at DC Europe.
Matthieu Bazil, General Manager of DC Europe: “I am delighted about the appointment of Thierry Kunz for the strategic job of Marketing Director. With his solid experience and dedication to the brand, I am certain that he will put together the best team and the best strategy to enable DC’s continued growth”
Brett Chittenden has been promoted on a new job at the Quiksilver Europe group as Creative Concept Director. His role will be to bring creative and innovative concepts to the products and marketing for the group’s brands (Quiksilver, Roxy and DC). He will also be in charge of supervising the innovation mission for the group.
Strengthened by 14 years of experience in marketing and communication at Rebel Media (UK) and Spin Australia, Brett Chittenden joined DC Europe in November 2004 as Marketing Manager. He was then appointed Marketing Director in charge of developing communication and marketing operations for Europe.
Pierre Agnes, President Quiksilver Europe says “I am very grateful for all the energy and passion that Brett has given DC for the last four years. He has played a crucial role in the positioning of the brand on the European market. The challenges that the Quiksilver Europe group poses in terms of creativity and innovation have naturally led me to promote Brett to the job of Creative Concept Director where he will be able to bring all his knowledge and talent to bear.”
