Sport-Achat to return with a fresh new format and venue in 2020 after their 18th successful summer edition.
Press Release: Doors are closed for the summer 2019 editions of Sport-Achat and Bikexpo, which took place over 2 days, September 9 and 10 at the Lyon Eurexpo exhibition centre.
1411 buyers (-8%) came to meet the 107 exhibitors and their 242 brands to discover and order the spring-summer 2020 collections. Visitors mainly from retailers from Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and PACA with a few stores in the West, the Pyrenees and the North-East. 2 intense days, studious and friendly punctuated by conferences and the traditional after-work summer party.
These B2B meetings remain an essential working tool for the outdoor sports world, allowing all the major actors within the sports industry to optimize their time to finalize their purchases, discover or rediscover the latest innovations, forge links and share their experiences in a studious but relaxed atmosphere.
The conferences were particularly well attended during this edition, allowing visitors to leave with qualified information on various themes: the evolution of the city centre business, the outlook for the bicycle market, the assessment of the summer season in the mountains, the transformation of the sports market and digitalisation…
New edition for 2020
After 18 editions organized in exhibition halls, the time has come to launch a new format: closer to the places of practice, between lakes and mountains to allow a real ‘watersport’ dimension as well as an open-air opening to give the opportunity to test the products on the event.
Announced on the first day of the show, the change of venue and the evolution of the format elicited reactions and exchanges between the participants. The ideas that emerged were well noted by the organizer, always concerned with meeting the needs of the market.
The only B2B show in the world of outdoor sports, Sport-Achat remains the only B2B sports event in France, a must-attend summer event for outdoor, mountain and trail professionals, as well as cycle professionals with the Bikexpo show.
The DNA of the event will not be changed because this event will remain a professional tool to present the collections in a showroom style, and to take orders: a clever mix between “shopping days”, “test days”, “matchmaking business” and a new experimental and friendly aspect to reinforce the pleasure of meeting each other during the show.
Sportair wishes to move towards a new approach to B2B lounges. The dates chosen for the new summer edition are the 7th and the 8th of September 2020, the name of the event and the venue are being kept secret.
