Talks are taking place between the Snowsport Industries of Great Britain (SIGB) and the organisers of the Outdoor Trade Show (OTS) to collaborate on a trade show that combines both the snowsport and outdoor industries; ultimately saving money and increasing buyer efficiency.
Outdoor Trade Show Reviews The Launch Of Winter Trade Show
Responding to positive feedback and interest from a number of outdoor brands, the organisers of the Outdoor Trade Show (OTS) have announced that initial negotiations are taking place with the Snowsport Industries of Great Britain (SIGB) to discuss the concept of a dedicated OTS Winter show to take place alongside Slide in 2021.
The SIGB was formed in 1987 and has presented its trade show, now known as Slide, for the past 33 years as the UK’s only trade show which specialises in snow sports and provides a launch platform for brands to present the very latest ski and snowboard hardware, clothing and accessory products to key retail buyers. Taking place in late January at the Telford Exhibition Centre just before the ISPO show in Germany, the timing is also perfect for outdoor brands to showcase winter ranges to the UK trade.
The concept for 2021 would be to secure dedicated exhibition space exclusively for outdoor brands alongside the designated area occupied by Slide with a view to developing a longer-term formal collaboration which satisfies the needs and embraces the requirements of both elements of the trade.
Bringing together both ‘Snowsports’ and ‘Outdoor’ and providing the opportunity for a combined UK winter focused show makes perfect sense, making it both cost effective and time efficient for brands and buyers alike. Many outdoor brands have both Spring and Autumn ranges and the facility to present these ranges independently in the UK in an outdoor winter environment will be very appealing.
Feedback and discussions are on-going with a view to concluding plans and making a formal announcement in the coming weeks.
