Crew love is true love

B2B & B2C Shops Test Event in Winterberg, January 22 – 23, 2022

For 2 full days over the weekend (January 22 -23), the snow industry and customers gathered in Winterberg/ Postwiese for a shops test event. B2B was combined with B2C to create a larger-than-imagined test village in a set-up that proved successful.

The day after Shops 1st Try (the B2B test event in Alpbachtal Rose) was cancelled, Rene Dicke and Tobias Hammer decided to get together and plan an alternative B2B event in Winterberg/Postwiese. After 2 years of Shops 1st Try being cancelled, the guys were adamant that a test and shred event was needed, so they got organising.

A new location was easy to find as in Winterberg/Postwiese, Stylefish snowboard shop already had a B2C test event organised for January 22-23, so Rene and Tobias got in touch and added a B2B area, making the event’s test village much bigger than previously imagined.

Across the two days, brands, retailers, businesses and customers came together and shared contacts, ideas, costs, etc… The whole event was fully transparent.

Brands in attendance were fully committed and shipped their 22/23 test gear from all over Europe to Winterberg. Lift passes, drinks and lunch were all free. The local Postwiesen park crew shaped a great setup and Saturday evening saw music and a camp fire, whilst snowboard teachers from Stylefish snowboard school were available to teach shop employees and kids.

Brands at the show were: Bataleon, Burton, Rome, Gnu, Libtech, 32, Elevated Surfcraft, Jones, Yes, Ride, K2, and Goodboards.

A total of 16 shops came to the test. including 6 Blue Tomato stores. In total, 98 people attended, this included Warehouse One, Panorama, S’Brett, Stylefish and Westide shops. For Tobias Hammer and Rene Dicke, it was more than a dream come true to see so many happy faces .

Max Bechen from Stylefish summed it up, “After 17 years it wasn’t all a dream, it turned out as a super nice “good vibes“ snowboard testival. The organisers Tobi Hammer (Mervin Brands,32) and René Dicke ( Bataleon, Rip Curl) offer a special thanks to Stylefish snowboard shop who stored all the sample shipments in their shop and to everyone else for supporting the event.
