NSP Foiling S/S 2026 Preview
Retail Buyers Guide: Foiling S/S 2026
Brand: NSP
Interviewee: Jarra – Design & Communications Manager
How was the 2024 market?
The 2024 foil market showed strong signs of maturity. We saw growth in downwind and light-wind conditions, with more riders exploring alternative entry points to the sport, especially via wing and SUP foiling. The market rewarded brands that offered performance, simplicity, and progression paths. For NSP, our refined board range and modular foil systems resonated well with riders and schools alike. It’s a buyers market with a lot of options – less new new excitement and innovation in the market
How are stock levels compared to a year ago?
Our stock levels are more stable than in previous seasons. We’re operating with improved forecasting and inventory management, giving our retailers more confidence in availability without overcommitting. The balance of supply and demand has noticeably improved across all foil categories.
What sport is driving the most demand at the moment (kite, wind, wing, surf…) and why?
Wing and SUP foiling continue to dominate NSP’s customer base. Wing foiling’s accessibility and versatility keep it attractive to newcomers and intermediates, while downwind SUP foiling is drawing in advanced riders chasing longer glides and big ocean performance. The ability to ride more often, in more conditions, is what keeps these disciplines in demand. Downwinding has exploded and has our strongest demand along with demand for midlength sup wing foil boards. Great for newer entrants to the sport once they master the basics –
Foils
Which of your 2025 foil set ups have sold best and why?
Our unique Riblet foils has been the standout performer. Riders appreciate its predictable lift, speed, and glide, as well as its rock-solid performance across multiple disciplines, wing, SUP, surf, and downwind. Its carbon construction and hydrodynamic design make it a favorite among both performance-focused and progressing foilers.
What are the main trends in foil construction, materials and design?
We have seen a clear trend toward lighter, stiffer carbon constructions, streamlined modular systems, and foil wings optimized for lower drag and better pumpability. The trend in foil design is moving toward lighter and stiffer components that deliver better lift, glide, and control. There is also a clear focus on efficiency and predictability, especially in low-energy conditions like light wind and downwind. At NSP, we match full carbon wings with aluminum masts and fuselages to achieve the best combination of performance, durability, and value. Our unique Riblet foils continue to stand out by improving water flow and reducing drag, giving riders a smoother, more responsive experience. As the sport develops, we are refining outlines, connection points, and flow characteristics to meet the demands of both progression and performance.
Foilboards
Which of your 2025 foil boards have sold best and why?
The original Bluefin stood out in 2025, especially for the rapidly expanding downwind-focused paddlers and experienced riders chasing open-water glide. Its design hit the mark for efficient lift, forgiving touchdowns, and excellent glide. The Spitfire also found its audience with mid-length SUP foilers looking for a high-performance board that still offers paddle power and speed that can be used as a crossover.
What are the main trends in Foilboard construction, materials and design?
Performance boards are trending longer and narrower, especially in the downwind space. Construction wise, it’s all about lightweight carbon builds that retain stiffness and durability. Recessed decks, chined rails, and pin tails are becoming common design features to increase control, minimize drag, and soften touchdowns. Versatility and crossover use like wing/prone or SUP/downwind are increasingly important along with the Midlength Foil category entering the market.
What are the highlights of your 2026 foilboard offer?
The 2026 lineup introduces four new or refined foilboards, each designed to push performance in their specific disciplines:
- NEW Osprey – Our most compact foilboard yet, built for dynamic prone and wing foiling. Lightweight, agile, and fast-reacting, it’s a go-to board for progression and maneuverability.
- UPDATED Bluefin – Refined to continue its legacy as our trusted downwind shape with better flow, paddle-up efficiency, and performance glide.
- NEW Bluefin EVO – The next evolution in our downwind foilboard range. Longer, narrower, and lighter, it’s engineered for elite riders chasing ocean glides and open-water speed.
- NEW Spitfire 2.0 – A midlength foilboard for SUP and downwind riders looking for early lift, effortless bump linking, and forgiving touchdowns. Fast, fluid, and designed for precision control.
These boards build on our successful NSP DNA with modern refinements in shape, deck design, volume flow, construction, built for purpose..
Any noteworthy efforts towards sustainability?
Yes. All NSP foil boards use SecureCell EPS, a closed cell foam core that resists water absorption and extends the life of the product. In collaboration with Cobra International, we apply advanced production techniques that reduce material waste and improve efficiency. The result is a more sustainable board that delivers long-lasting performance without compromise.
How will you support retailers to sell your 2026 products?
We’re expanding our digital asset library with professional product videos, spec sheets, and usage guides to help retailers educate customers quickly and effectively. We also provide early B2B access, staff training, and launch campaigns timed with global product drops. Team rider and demos with closer connection to the shops and foil community
