From a niche market to a popular must-have, Changing Robes and Surf Ponchos keep on growing.. What is your strategy for 2025: keep on expanding full tilt or has the time came to consolidate your offer?
In 2025, Mellow Sea is aiming for balanced growth. We will continue to innovate with products such as our Dry Stop Poncho Parka, while consolidating our market position through premium quality and increased durability. Our aim is to meet the needs of those involved in aquawalking, lifesaving and surfing activities, while expanding our audience to include fans of other water sports and outdoor activities.
The Robe/Poncho appeal is so mainstream nowadays: have you considered reaching out beyond the boardsport distribution channels before the fashion big names take over the demand?
Yes, we are actively exploring partnerships outside the traditional boardsports circuits. Our Dry Stop Poncho Parka, with its elegant, technical design, is already suitable for a variety of uses, including outdoor activities.
Recently, lighter and quicker drying options using micro-fiber cloth,rather than the thick terry Surf Poncho have gained traction, Do you offer both?
Our unique Dry Stop Poncho Parka combines the best of both worlds: a removable waterproof inner lining, and a warm, comfortable fleece-lined interior. The outside of the poncho is also waterproof! Although we don’t offer classic microfiber, our Dry Stop material is designed to dry quickly and offer optimum protection against the elements, while remaining lightweight and easy to carry. As part of our upcycling program, we also have a range of ponchos upcycled from terry towels.
The (Changing) Robes are worn in very different situations: Après-surf, dog walking, camping, as an indoor plaid and as a fashion statement in the big cities! Do you offer specific models for those various activities, or the all-in-one product is the go-to choice?
Our Dry Stop Poncho Parka is designed as a versatile product, suitable for multiple uses. Whether warming up after surfing, protecting from the rain in town, or relaxing on a camping trip, this model combines functionality and style. We believe in the simplicity of a single product that excels in all situations.

For 2025, we’re staying true to our philosophy of clean, functional design. Our Dry Stop Poncho Parka is now available in a sober, timeless color (black with white and yellow logo embroidery) to suit all styles.
