NAISH SUP 2025 PREVIEW
Retail Buyers Guide: SUP 2025 Retail Buyer’s Guide
Brand: Naish
Interviewee: Zdenek Maryzko/ Michi Schweiger. – product manager Naish SUP/ Product designer Naish SUP
In our previous S/S 25 SUP Buyer’s Guide, most indicators showed the 2022-23 overstocks were mostly cleared out. Did 2024 ended on the same note with a better demand vs. offer balance?
The market seems to be a bit more refreshed. At least on our end we are not dealing with any overstock at this point. This might be different for other brands depending on their situation. Also always hard to tell what is still sitting on the dealer level.
Cheaper entry-level iSUPs represent the bulk of the sales but the segment is flooded with brands and products, whereas more advanced SUPs offer better margins. How do you intend to position your brand on the market spectrum in 2025?
We have never been at the low price level with any of our board models and we do not intend to get into that realm. It is a tight competitive space and we rather focus on higher quality instead.
Which are your key inflatable models for 2025 in the Allround/Cruising segments?
We offer our inflatable Touring range which covers different lengths and widths ranging from 10’8’’; 12’0’’; 12’6’’ and 14’0’’. Always featuring a woven fusion dropstitch construction with strategically placed cargo nets in the nose and tail area. We use a US fin box system to give ultimate fin stiffness and compability. The outlines and rockers stem from our hardboards with some rockerline inputs from our open ocean boards to perform in a variety of water conditions. Tail areas of the boards feature a hard edge release. We also offer a 12 foot crossover model which takes the shape details of the Touring SUP and widens the user spectrum with a center fin box and a mast connection system making the board also a great light wind windsurf board or even wing board for the first steps to learn to control a wing.
Which Specialty iSUP are you pushing in 2025: Race & Flatwater, River, Fishing, SUP-Kayak…?
We stay within a very broad all around spectrum with all of our boards. Using elements from what we learned from racing and surfing in order to broaden the range of use of our board models. We still carry our ONE inflatable SUP in the line which has been a consistent all around accessible touring and one design racing SUP for many years.
There has been a relative status quo the past 3 years regarding new technologies & materials? Do you have some exciting news to share for the year coming or did the SUP products reach maturity concerning designs/constructions?
We put our money on proven technology as we feel that quality and longevity is the right call for the current market situation
(hardboard brands only) The opportunity for hardboard sales seem to be whether in the school/rental area or in the high-end performance models. Do you cater to this demand?
Hardboard sales are certainly a harder bargain due to the logistics. But they are still a factor and our lineup has pretty much something for everybody. From surfing dedicated boards to longboard style allrounders that are a great choice for any kind of riding.
