How is the Skate Helmet and Protection market from your P.O.V?
The Skate Helmet Market is at an all-time high! Coming off an Olympic year where we saw the highest level of skateboarding on display in our history on the global stage with all the athletes fully kitted up, we are riding that unprecedented exposure for skateboarding and protective gear.
What trends are you noticing in Skate Helmet and Protection?
Lots of fancy colors and graphics, especially pro collabs and graphics are popping off!
What do you think the impact of Trump Tariffs will be on the European Skate Helmet and Protection market?
Unfortunately, its going to look like higher prices for wholesale and the consumer at the retail level.
How are you communicating safety certification?
The same as we always have, by being fully transparent with the certification and impact test R&D process with the community.
What are your stories for 2025?
The S1 Team is riding high coming off the best year we have every had on record in 2024 and are looking to carry that momentum over into 2025. Arisa Trew won Olympic Gold at Paris, fully kitted with an S1 Lifer, S1 Pro Knees, S1 Knee Gaskets and S1 Elbows. S1 was also represented on the biggest stage of skateboarding by a number of other skaters at the Olympics on both the men and woman’s side including Gavin Bottger, Naia Laso, Tate Carew and Minna Stess. S1 will continue to support our amazing team of skaters in our family from the Legends who lead us like Christian Hosoi, Lance Mountain, Lonny Hiramoto, Darren Navarette, Eric Dressen and Peter Hewitt to the youth movement with Arisa Trew, Gavin Bottger and Wyatt Hammond. S1 will continue to release the highest quality and most thoughtfully designed specialty gear on the market driven by our team and market needs.
DESIGNS
What helmet designs/styles are trending this year?
The S1 Retro Lifer is trending this year. The youth culture is all about retro when it comes to the way they dress and how they rock their gear.
What are trending styles in pads?
Pro Pads, all day long from the groms to the adults. Kids, Moms, Dads from the beginner level all the way to the grizzled vets are out there shredding and have access to the most world class parks we have ever seen in the history of skateboarding so the need for high level, specialty pro pads is at an all-time high.
Which new colours and graphics/ collaborations are you looking forward to for next season?
Christian Hosoi Collab Helmet. Lance Mountain Collab Helmet and Mina Stess Collab Helmet.

Are you using any new tech in your helmets/ protection ?
Fusion Foam, which is featured in all of our Lifers and RAD Sizing Liners that reduce impact energy that can be added into any of our Lifer helmets are our flagship tech.
Are there any crossover technologies from other sports?
S1 Lifers can be used for Skateboarding, Roller Skating, BMX, Roller Derby, Scooters, Bikes and Ebikes.
