MARKET

How is the Skate Helmet and Protection market from your point of view?
Overall, the skate helmet and protection market is doing well, especially in cities and areas where skateboarding and similar sports are growing. We see steady demand across Europe, North America, and parts of Asia. Consumer behavior is shifting a bit – more people are aware of safety, but style and comfort still play a big role in buying decisions.

What trends are you noticing in Skate Helmet and Protection? There’s definitely more interest in lightweight and slim-profile gear that doesn’t get in the way of riding. Skaters want gear that looks good and performs well. That’s why helmets like our Evolution and Superlight are doing great.

What do you think the impact of Trump Tariffs will be on the European Skate Helmet and Protection market?
At the moment, the situation is fundamentally uncertain — we simply don’t know what regulations or conditions will be in place in the coming weeks. This makes planning extremely challenging. For the entire sporting goods industry, the high tariffs between the U.S. and China represent a major obstacle. As a result, adjustments may be required across the entire product lifecycle: from sourcing and manufacturing to inventory planning and retail pricing.

How are you communicating safety certification?
We highlight safety certifications in many ways:

  • Each helmet and pad comes with labels, packaging, and a manual that explain our high safety standards.
  • Our website (ridetsg.com) has clear info on all
  • We work with distributors and retailers to pass that message on to
  • On the consumer side, we use social media and digital campaigns to educate people on why certified helmets matter – especially compared to no-name or non-certified

What are your stories for 2025?
For 2025, we’re focusing on two strong product stories, each rooted in one of our core categories: Bike and Skate. Our Bike Collection continues to grow and evolve, offering a broad range of helmets and protection tailored for urban commuters, dirt riders, and trail enthusiasts. At the same time, we’re staying true to our skateboarding roots. TSG has always been a core skate brand, and that remains central to who we are. Our Skate Collection reflects that commitment — with trusted, functional gear made for riders. From helmets like the Meta, Evolution, and Superlight, to protection such as the Force kneepad series, the WaveSk8 kneepad with ACF impact foam, and our popular Basic Skate Sets and Junior Skate Sets. A key highlight in 2025 is our focus on downhill skateboarding. It brings a more extreme-sport vibe compared to other skate categories and demands equipment that performs under intense conditions. Leading this segment is the TSG Pass 2.0 downhill helmet, which takes center stage in our Summer 2025 story. It features a robust ABS shell with a reinforced chin bar, a refined, comfortable fit, and our new anti-fog air flow system, designed to prevent visor fogging and maintain clear vision during high-speed runs. Downhill skateboarding may still be niche, but it’s growing, and we’re proud to be part of pushing that movement forward with gear that riders can truly rely on. DESIGNS

What helmet designs and styles are trending this year?
Riders are into clean, low-key styles with modern colourways. Our Meta, Evolution, and Superlight helmets are super popular for their look, fit, and comfort. The Skate/BMX helmet also continues to be a favorite for its simple design and tough build.

What are trending styles in pads?
Slim and comfortable is the way to go. Our Force III and Force V pads are top picks for riders who want heavy-duty protection with a streamlined fit. For newer riders and kids, our Basic Skate Sets and Junior Skate Sets are doing really well – they’re easy to put on, and offer great coverage.

Which new colours and graphics are you looking forward to for next season?
For Summer 2025, we’re excited about a fresh range of new colourways, including earthy neutrals, soft blues and greens, and a few bold seasonal tones. We’re also seeing strong early feedback on some of the new graphic designs in our Evolution and Meta helmet lines. A real highlight for the season is our artist collaboration with Jimbo Phillips, known for his iconic, bold, skate-inspired artwork. His unique design brings a strong visual statement to our helmet lineup and connects perfectly with the skate community.

TECH

Are you using any new tech in your helmets/protection?
For Winter 25/26, we’re adding MIPS technology to our snow helmet Vertice. We’re also launching the FLY back protector, developed with RE ZRO, which uses super lightweight, flexible and biodegradable materials. We’re planning to bring some of these new tech ideas into our summer products soon too.

Are there any crossover technologies from other sports?
Definitely. We often take technologies that perform well in winter sports or mountain biking and adapt them for skate use — and vice versa. Innovations like advanced impact foams, optimized ventilation systems, sustainable materials, and ergonomic design features help us enhance both protection and comfort across our entire product range.
