Were the level orders for SS25 boardshorts good?
Coming out of a hiatus in Europe, the Rusty brand has focused on core surf stores within its relaunch program and sales have been relatively good.
Do you carry over staple pieces over the years?
Certain styles that outperform others and show good roots will always be considered for carry overs. It also helps the retailer to have consistency within a few SKUs.
Prices vary from €30 to €150+: where do you position your brand on that spectrum?
Rusty boardshorts range from 66 € to 76 €. Without being pretentious, Rusty remains a premium brand within the surf industry.
What are the main design trends of SS26 for (surfing) boardshorts? (cuts, lengths, special features, closing systems…)
90’s inspired long length board shorts are back! Rusty boardshorts range between 21’’ and 24’’. The style is baggy but stretchy materials keep them functional. Drawstring closures on either fixed waist performance based shorts, or elastic waist on casual shorts are the norm.
Same question for walkshorts/beachshorts.
Walkshorts and beach shorts follow the same guidelines with baggy styling being on trend.
What are you colour & print stories for SS26?
Bold R.dot and RUSTY prints are features on all shorts. From sports prints, to contrast detail stitching Rusty has a tight range of boardies for all end-customers. Look out for the FLIP RAMBO BOARDSHORT in hunting camo print to mix things up a bit!
Which fabrics did you implement for the SS26 collections?
A mixture of nylon and spandex rip-stop materials keep things functional, coupled with 4 way stretch capabilities and recycled polyesters.

Boldly camouflaged ! With a 22’’outseam, a baggy fit and full camo design, The Flip Rambo boardshort really makes a statement. To keep things functional this 180GSM garment is put together using recycled polyester and spandex to offer a 4 way stretch.

Fixed Comp Revolution boardshort:
Baggy fit and longer styling with a 23’’ outseam keeps this boardshort on point fashion wise. For the brand loyalists, bold R.Dot logo branding is featured and durability is gained by the use of a nylon and spandex ripstop melange.
