How would you describe the 2024/25 splitboard season in terms of market performance and consumer demand?
The last season has been very good for Amplid, with a growth of 22%. It seems that the splitboard market is slowly recovering from the post-covid phenomena, and also the demand for solid boards has been really good.
From changing consumer behavior to tariffs and supply chain stress, what’s been the biggest challenge for your brand recently?
On the production side – Amplid is manufacturing all boards in Taiwan – there was no impact on higher tariffs on raw materials. Now getting boards into the US is a real hassle. When shipping into the US on a whole sale price level, the pain can somehow be absorbed. When shipping boards from Germany into the US to online customers, it’s almost unaffordable.
