Surf forecasting website and online retailer Magicseaweed has been acquired by Surfline. UK-based Magicseaweed were acquired by Australian online surf retailer SurfStitch last year and according to the statement below, Magicseaweed will keep its staff in the UK.

Press Release: Surfline is pleased to announce the acquisition of certain assets from the Surfstitch Group, which include the Magicseaweed brand, Magicseaweed.com and the Magicseaweed iOS and Android apps.

Surfline and Magicseaweed will remain as distinct products, aimed at serving the needs of their respective user bases. Having both brands and teams under one roof will enable more aggressive investment in product development for the benefit of surfers worldwide. Brand and advertiser partners will also benefit from the scale and technology that the global platform provides.

The Magicseaweed team will remain in the UK, while Ben Freeston will work closely with the Surfline team out of Surfline’s Huntington Beach headquarters.
