Shop 1st Try moved up another notch this year: the event is clearly the biggest snowboard-business get together anywhere on the planet. This year saw more retailers coming from more countries, with an ever growing contingent of North American visitors. Snow was not up to the standard of the last few years, but if anything, that encouraged more testing. And there were plenty of brands around to be tested, with gear from Anon, 100%, Amplid, Bataleon, Deeluxe, Dakine, and many more.
The first night of the exhibition dinner was rammed full and only a slightly smaller number were there for the second evening. This years’ Boardsport SOURCE Design Award was won by Nitro. Israel’s Skateboard Club won a case of beer – the shop had travelled the furthest to be at Alpbach, 3,702km to be precise.
So all in all, it was an event not to be missed. Book your flights and accommodation for 2025’s event as soon as the dates are published.
