Supplier Profile: Scott Serfas

The latest cover of SOURCE Magazine (68) was a photo taken by snow-photo master Scott Serfas featuring Endeavor co-founder Max Jenke boosting off a drop on their Archetype powder stick.  Scott is one of the world’s best snowboard photographers and also co-founded Endeavor with Max back in 1992.  We caught up with Scott to ask him about the equipment he uses, his involvement with Endeavor and to find out more about our cover shot.

How long have your been taking boardsports photos for?
Professionally since 1992….

What are you currently working on?
It’s top secret…really.

What equipment do you use?
Canon, Leica, Phase-one, Profoto.

Please tell us about your involvement with Endeavor.
Max Jenke and I started Endeavor in 1992 so that we could have a brand to call our own. Simple really, we just wanted to make something that rode really well but also looked good. A lot of brands didn’t take the graphics very seriously, or so it looked. Back then, a lot of boards looked like shit.

Where do you live, and what do you find important about your surroundings?
I live in Vancouver, and I think it’s one of the best cities in the world. We have the ocean and mountains plus so much more at our doorstep.

Please could you tell us about the shot we used of Max for our front cover?
That photo of max was from an early season day testing out our new powder and backcountry specific Archetype board. We wanted to get some shots of it in action and we hadn’t signed Rusty Ockenden yet. Good thing we all at endeavor can ride!
