Retail Buyers Guide:  Snowboards F/W 2026/27 Retail Buyer’s Guide
Brand:  White Space
Interviewee: Sean Keough, VP of Sales

How would you describe the 2024/25 snowboard season in terms of market performance and consumer demand?
This season has been very good for us, we are growing quickly yet responsibly with key premium retailers.

What major trends are shaping the snowboard market (pricing, consumer preferences, rider demographics, retail shifts)?
Product Quality is number one priority and delivering on-time to the retailers.

From changing consumer behavior to tariffs and supply chain stress, what’s been the biggest challenge for your brand recently?
We have a strong sourcing team so Tariffs were not a major disturbance for us. Factories requesting earlier PO dates YOY continue to be a challenge but manageable.

BRAND FOCUS

What is your brand’s core mission or philosophy, and how does it influence snowboard design and development?
WHITESPACE is a performance snow brand founded by Shaun White to inspire riders to forge their own unconventional journey. Guided by his legacy of competitive excellence and distinct aesthetic, we design products that harmonize function and form. At WHITESPACE we strive to build best in class products for seasoned veterans as well as those new to the sport.

How has your brand’s role in the snowboard market evolved in recent years?
As a new brand, we are focused on building awareness for our brand, what we stand for, and the quality of our products.

Who is your target rider for the 26/27 season, and how has this profile changed compared to the past?
Our target rider is resort-focused yet adventurous. They are both male and female, love the experience of winter, and are willing to invest in quality products.

Which product ranges or categories do you expect to drive the most growth in 26/27?
We see growth internationally in our boards and outerwear. Womens has been growing at a much faster rate in the US, while internationally we are seeing the inverse. We are extremely excited about the future of our snowboards line as we see and hear the overwhelmingly positive feedback from riders on the hill.

SNOWBOARD SPECIFIC

What trends or developments in construction, shapes, and innovation are guiding your 26/27 snowboard range?
Our collection continues to focus on best-in-class materials to keep our boards lightweight, energetic, and fast. One consistent piece of feedback we get is how much fun our boards are to ride. They are lively, responsive, and different from other brands. We build our boards to maximize the riding experience.

What new materials or material innovations are you using — inserts, edges, cores, sidewalls, resin, glues, base material, top sheet, wax, or others?
Our commitment to finding best-in-class materials means we are not seeking innovations through raw invention, but instead focusing on improving quality by sourcing higher-performing materials already used both within and outside of our industry. We have best-in-class tri-axial fiberglass, carbon inserts, and wood-sourced materials that we’ve identified and integrated into our boards with the help of our manufacturing partner.

How are you incorporating sustainability and ethical production into your boards (materials, processes, lifecycle, packaging)?
Sustainability and ethical production guide our company philosophy and is the backbone to our development process. We are beginning to use more FSC-certified woods in our boards and packaging, and plant-based bioresins have been a part of our material build since Day 1.

What design directions are you taking — graphics, patterns, collabs, or signature editions?
At WHITESPACE we are defining our own genre of graphics. They are often described as clean and minimal and fit with our elevated aesthetic. We’ve created signature collaborative boards with Moncler, FARM Rio, Aspen Sushi Club, NHL and NBA franchises, Pacifico, and other brands who share our vision and some part of our DNA.

Are you focusing on particular rider groups (freeride, freestyle, all-mountain, women’s-specific, youth, beginner) for 26/27?
Our audience tends to be broader and our boards are resonating with a large audience that loves the sport, from beginners to seasoned vets. We build boards for a resort-focused rider, but our boards are technically capable of charging in any condition on any mountain, from our 3D Icona to the MAAX to our AMF Twin.  Look no further than our team riders.
