Retail Buyers Guide: Mens Outerwear F/W 2026/27 Retail Buyer’s Guide
Brand: Horsefeathers
Interviewee: Tomáš Koudela, Head of Marketing
In 2 sentences – how was the men’s snow outerwear market in 2024/25?
Despite tougher conditions, the market felt pretty standard overall. We still grew year-on-year, kept costs on plan, and our product mix landed well—so it was a solid season for us, just not an all-time one.
What are the main trends you take your inspiration from for 2026/27?
Because we sell to different audiences, we track each one separately—there isn’t one single “across the board” trend. For the on-trend riders and the community, baggy pants and boxy jackets are popping off, ideally with a slightly retro look but modern tech. Mainstream is still driven by certain colours, while the high-end segment is more about performance and tends to stick to its own colour lane. One big growth driver for us is black—across styles and categories.
What new jacket fits and pant silhouettes are coming out in 2026/27?
Right now it’s pretty simple: baggy and boxy. On the jacket side, we’ve added more models in a boxy fit. In pants, Baron is leading the way—our black colourway was almost sold out already in early December. That said, we still keep a strong range across categories – bib pants, our high-end Nelson model, cargo styles, and solid basics.
Tell us about colours and prints:
Our men’s line is built a lot around earth tones, but the one that really stands out is the Aurora all-over print—super catchy and it also marks Halldor stepping into his second decade with Horsefeathers. Other strong pops are Yellow Blaze and Royal Blue. As the core palette (besides the already-mentioned black), we’re leaning on Lunar, Storm, Tarmac, and Tea—all clean, grounded, earthy shades.
Any *NEW* technical stories with regards to fabrics and materials?
We’ve made a solid upgrade on the fabric for our top-tier Terra jacket – Ultratech 3L. It’s 20K/20K with a PFC-free DWR, but the biggest win is the hand-feel: softer and lighter. In our premium insulated styles we stick with proven PrimaLoft insulation, and across the whole line you’ll find YKK zippers and Coats threads.
How are you addressing sustainability topics, not only in production of your products (materials, transportation, packaging) but also their after-life / repurposing?
On the production side we work with long-term, proven partners certified by WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production), and our material suppliers follow bluesign standards. When it comes to fabrics, we’re always looking for the best balance between sustainability, performance, and long product lifespan—because durability is the biggest sustainability win. We often hear feedback like “I’ve had your jacket for 10+ years and it still looks new,” which is the best proof we’re on the right track. We run PFC-free DWR on all products and use smart packaging: tech products go in P-life oxo-biodegradable bags, and streetwear is packed in bags made from recycled LDPE waste—plus we started folding products to half size to reduce bag volume (small change, big impact). And by producing most of our street collection in the EU, we cut our footprint thanks to shorter, more efficient logistics.
Any trends that your brand is moving away from?
We haven’t really dropped any style completely—except slim-fit pants, which we moved away from a while ago. It’s more about trimming certain categories to make room for what’s trending right now: for example we’ve reduced bib pants down to one option, and basic jackets plus jackets with big logo placements play a smaller role. The core of our line has shifted towards mid to higher price points with more technical, more refined-looking models. Anoraks are still working for us.
What are your big marketing campaigns for 2026/27?
Our key campaign for FW26/27 is Halldor stepping into his second decade with Horsefeathers, visually backed by the Aurora print. Alongside that, the baggy unisex story stays strong—pushing Morris / Trent jackets and Baron pants, tied in with partner snowparks. We’ll also keep building the Terra 3L campaign with our Zillertal backcountry legend Steve Gruber, including a special “secret session” concept.
Key Products:
Baron Pants:
Baron Pants are our go-to baggy, unisex snow pants—clean style, proper function. They come with 10K/10K waterproofing/breathability and a PFC-free DWR finish, so you stay dry without killing the vibe. The whole team rides them because the fit is baggy “just right”. Heads-up: they tend to sell out fast, especially in black.

Morris Jacket (Black/Aurora):
Morris Jacket (Black/Aurora) is a unisex piece with a baggy fit and a clean retro-inspired look. It runs 15K/15K waterproofing/breathability with a PFC-free DWR, so it’s built for real riding days. The cut is a proven winner (now going into year three), and the Aurora colourway is the standout drop celebrating Halldor x HF entering decade two.

Terra 3L Jacket:
Terra 3L Jacket is our no-compromise shell for riders who live in the mountains and earn their turns in the backcountry. Built with Ultratech 3L (20K/20K) and PFC-free DWR, it’s lightweight, tough, and made to move. The updated fabric comes after 3 years of development and rider testing, led by Steve Gruber. Works perfectly with our layering program.
