Surf and Skate Expo Newquay UK 25-26th July preview

After its successful launch last year Surf and Skate Expo returns with an even busier program, with activities to keep the whole community smiling.

Surf and Skate Expo in Newquay will bring together surfers, skaters, brands, marketing managers and anyone who just loves being outside, together for a weekend-long celebration of all things surf and skate. For its second edition the Expo has expanded exponentially. The YETI stage will once again host keynote talks, panels and fireside chats at the Expo Hall. There will also be the XTRATUF Tales From the Frontier stage, in the Expo Village, with casual drop-in conversations from the brand’s athletes, ambassadors and supporters. Rising Tide Festival has also joined the Expo this year, taking up residence at Newquay Orchard. There’s also the Wavelength UK Surfer Awards and Out Of Office Conference, a one-day marketing masterclass of talks and presentations from some of the most prominent figures in the business, happening on July 24th. The European Surf Film Festival is launching Saturday July 25th with screenings from Dylan Graves, Peter Hamblin and many more. The whole weekend is a mix of free and paid for events, so make sure you get your tickets to each one and plan out your weekend. The Expo is split over a number of locations all in walkable distance of each other.

The Expo Village open all weekend from 9 AM – 5 PM, is the home for surf and skate brands from across the country and your ultimate destination for the weekend. Brands exhibiting include: The Wave Project, Skindog, Passenger, Patagonia, Dry Robe, Blu, Nanuskate, Roarsome, Dawn Patrol, Synch, Mad Hatter, Boardies, Xtratuf, Uncle Matts, Evolve, Sister, Day Surfboards, Red Equipment, Circle One, Upper Curt Deluxe, Saltrock, Drift Point, Simpel, Goodr and Peth. So visit them all and try out the latest kit.

Activities at the Expo Village on Saturday include Jeff Don’t Surf to grow support for your local surf shop presented by 10 Over Surf Shop, a Wetsuit give away to the first 80 people through the Expo doors, The Saltrock Mountain Bike Show, Making Escapism A Chat with Rich Sutcliffe, Wavelength’s 45th Anniversary Collage Workshop, Passenger’s Happy Hour with DJ Ozzy, a Great Surfer Grill Off and not to be missed the Wavelength 45th Anniversary celebrations. And on Sunday it’s the Roarsome’s U12’s Shred Session. Anytime over the weekend try out the Shred School presented by Nanuskate, hosted by Coach Frank Skate School and the The Floating Wellness Lounge. Visit the Athletic Brewing Expo Ramp, a huge 8’ high and 32’ long half pipe which will be home to the many skateboard and BMX demos, for a full program of action. The Expo village is free to enter just get a Just Expo Village Pass.

The Expo Hall presented by YETI is the hub for all the epic keynote presentations, panel discussions, The Wavelength UK Surfer Awards and European Surf Film Festival. You will also find the official Wavelength bar, beer garden and UK Surf Show Recording studio there. First up on Friday night at 6pm is the Wavelength UK Surfer Awards. Towards the start of 2026, the public were invited to nominate anyone from the UK who had made a positive impact in surfing over the past 12 months. These nominations were then tallied up, and four finalists were picked per category. There are 14 awards to be won covering longboarding, longboard shaping, performance-surfing, short board shaping, best male and female surfer, U18 surfers, photographer of the year, big wave surfing, surf school of the year and eco excellence awards for individuals and brands. The awards will be presented by Bella Bunce, print editor of Wavelength. There will also be a live-voting element on the night, to choose the winner of the Newquay Boardrider’s Expression Session, presented by YETI. You will need a Friday night Surfer Awards Evening Pass for £29 for this red-carpet celebration of British surfing, its where the UK’s surf community all come together to crown the best of the best.

From Saturday morning the Expo Hall will be packed with the audience getting stoked on watching the Short film Seventeen and a Q&A, a Fireside Chat With Laura Crane, a panel on 45 Years Of Wavelength Documenting the decades and North of North with Dylan Graves and Tim Latte

Saturday evening it’s the European surf film festival presented by Reef, with the best films from across Europe, all under one-roof. Hosted by Lucy Campbell and Luke Gartside, this is a chance also to meet the cast behind each film. Films to be shown are the Over surf shop showcase with Q&A with Gwyn Haslock, Danny Tears and filmmaker Osker Carmichael, Sweet Adventure with Q&A with director Pete Hamblin, Rán: a Scandinavian surf saga with Q&A with Freddie and director and legendary surf videographer Morgan Maassen, a Thousand Lives with Q&A with Mickey Smith and Hunting Arctic Surf Rarities with Q&A with Dylan Graves and Tim Latte. You will need a £19 Saturday Night European Surf Film Festival Pass for this one.

Great Western Beach a stunning sandy cove near the heart of Newquay will host a multitude of events.  Here, you’ll find beach activities, surfboard demos, surfing lessons, beach BBQs and loads more. Rising Tide is a grass roots gathering that showcases the work of shapers and makers from the UK surf community, with a focus on sustainability and positive progress for planet and people. For the expo they will be based at the Orchard presenting the following topics: Reinventing the Ride Rethinking surf culture & Sustainability, through the lens of James A. Grant, The Essence of the Eco-Stoke” with Enrico Tegazzin, a panel discussion on The, Interconnectivity Of Cornwall’s Landscapes and Coastline, The UK’s Water Quality & How It Impacts People and Nature presented by Surfers Against Sewage, A Conversation with eco surfers Sally Mcgee & Tom Bing, LGBTQ Representation In Surf and Conservation with Steph Barnes, Jack Murley and Lucy Luck and How Can Surfing and Community Support Men’s Mental Health with Stephen Downes, Nick Knowles and Max Denning.
