QuickSett The Snowboard binding disc with added benefits

Black-Line are the owners of the revolutionary QuickSett,a mechanical disc that replaces the original disc in your snowboard front binding, to give you comfort, freedom, and ease in the rotation and positioning of the binding.  Source spoke to one of the founders Ben Bernabé to hear all about QuickSett and the benefits it brings to your time on the mountain.

Please give us a brief history of Black-Line
Black-Line was founded by two brothers with a simple ambition: to build a life around their passion for the mountains and boardsports. The idea came from real frustrations experienced on the snow. Knee pain was a recurring issue, serious enough that their father had to stop snowboarding and switch to skiing. At the same time, a close partner, a beginner, struggled with the learning curve and discomfort caused by traditional fixed bindings. Rather than accepting these limitations, they set out to rethink part of the snowboard experience that had remained unchanged for decades, leading to the creation of QuickSett.

What started as a garage-level idea quickly gained traction. After early prototypes and testing, the project won several local and national innovation contests, validating both the concept and its potential. A major turning point came with a successful appearance on the French version of Dragons’ Den, accelerating visibility and helping move the brand from concept to commercial reality. Today, Black-Line is focused on establishing itself as a meaningful innovator within the snowboard hardware space.

Who are the people behind the brand?
Black-Line is a tight-knit team of four, all French and deeply connected to extreme sports. The company is spearheaded by the two founding brothers, who bring complementary skill sets across product development and business operations. The rest of the team is made up of riders from different disciplines, ensuring that product decisions are grounded in real riding experience. This diversity reflects the versatility Black-Line aims to bring to the industry. What unites the team is a shared intention: to bring something genuinely useful to the industry. The approach is practical, rider-driven, and focused on solving problems rather than following trends.

Please explain how QuickSett works
QuickSett is a mechanical disc that replaces the original disc in your binding and is compatible with over 80% of bindings on the market. It is designed to give snowboarders comfort, freedom, and ease in the rotation and positioning of their front binding. The benefits are threefold.

When moving on flat terrain or pushing with one foot, riders can align their front foot forward with the board, eliminating the need to twist the knee into an uncomfortable position. This reduces strain and improves energy efficiency.

When stationary, on a lift or in queues, the foot can be pointed forward for maximum comfort.

While still strapped in, QuickSett allows the rider to instantly change their angle depending on the type of riding. A freestyle setup, a stable freeride stance, or a precise carving angle can all be accessed in one click. Instead of committing to one configuration, the rider can adapt to conditions in real time. Beyond performance, there is a clear ergonomic benefit. By reducing unnatural torsion in the knee and improving stance alignment, QuickSett addresses one of the most common sources of discomfort in snowboarding. Ultimately, it transforms bindings from a fixed constraint into a dynamic interface.

How will you be marketing the brand?
Our marketing approach focuses on authenticity and targeted visibility rather than mass exposure. We are actively building a network of brand ambassadors, riders who genuinely connect with the product and can demonstrate its value in real conditions. We are also selective with trade shows and industry events, choosing platforms where we can engage directly with retailers, distributors, and key stakeholders. Content plays an important role, particularly in demonstrating the practical benefits of QuickSett. As it challenges a long-standing norm, seeing it in action is often what converts interest into understanding. As the brand grows, partnerships within the industry will remain key to expanding reach while maintaining credibility.

How will you be distributing the product across Europe?
At this stage, we have been developing markets directly, working closely with early retailers and partners to validate demand and refine our approach. We are now entering a phase where distribution becomes central to scaling. We are looking to partner with experienced distributors who already have strong networks in their markets and understand the dynamics of the winter sports industry. The objective is not simply to increase volume, but to ensure that QuickSett is represented and sold in the right way, with partners who can communicate its value effectively at retail level. This creates an opportunity for distributors to introduce a differentiated product with strong rider benefits. If any distributors want more information, they can reach out to [email protected].

You are also looking for new brand ambassadors and riders—who should interested parties contact?
Yes, we are always looking to connect with riders who want to be part of the project and help push the product forward. Snowboarders interested in joining the Black-Line ambassador program can reach out by sending their profile, videos, and relevant information to [email protected], clearly stating “Ambassador Application” in the subject line. We are particularly interested in riders who are not only skilled, but also engaged with their community and motivated to contribute to the evolution of the sport.
