Tahe Outdoors France Group Initiates Court-Supervised Reorganization
The Tahe Outdoors France Group has today, formally petitioned the Commercial Court of Vannes (Tribunal de Commerce de Vannes) for the opening of judicial reorganization proceedings (redressement judiciaire) under French law, a court-supervised procedure that allows the company to continue trading while a structured sale process is conducted under judicial oversight.
This voluntary step is designed to safeguard jobs while initiating a formal process to identify potential buyers. The objective is to transition the company to new shareholders who can support the growth and diversification strategy within the watersports sector and beyond.

Founded in 1979, the Group is a European leader in water sports with a global footprint and strong underlying assets. It operates through its two flagship brands, TAHE and SIC Maui, a distribution network spanning more than 90 countries, and its own direct sales channels. Its manufacturing facility in Vannes is equipped with advanced production technologies, including thermoforming, EPS moulding, and extrusion. This integrated technical and technological expertise, unique at a European scale, represents a compelling industrial asset for any prospective acquirer.
This voluntary proceeding is above all intended to organise the transfer of the business under the best possible conditions. The sale process is already underway under the supervision of the court-appointed judicial administrator AJIRE, represented by Maître MERLY. This step is designed to secure all ongoing operations, honour commitments to customers, and prepare a swift transition to new ownership that will guarantee the long-term continuity of the business.
Management is fully committed to preserving jobs, expertise, and the French industrial excellence for more than 45 years. For more information about the Group: taheoutdoors.com
French judicial reorganisation proceedings are a court-supervised insolvency procedure under French law. While broadly referenced in the US context as comparable to Chapter 11 of the US Bankruptcy Code, in that they allow continued trading under court protection the, present proceedings are more precisely structured as a court-supervised asset sale to a third-party acquirer. In US terms, this is closest to a Section 363 sale process; in UK terms, it is comparable to an administration with a pre-pack or accelerated sale. The procedure is overseen by a court-appointed administrator (administrateur judiciaire) and is specifically designed to preserve business continuity and employment through a transfer to new ownership.
