Which technical snow backpacks sold best in the winter 2024/25 and why?
[ak] Dispatcher series as they are our most snow focused packs that provide true ascent and decent features of riding on snow . We see great traction on the vest, as this silhouette in general receives great coverage backcountry events & movie parts.

Which of your 2025/2026 snow backpacks do you expect to perform best at retail and why?
The Burton [ak] Dispatcher 25L is expected to be the top performer at retail thanks to its balanced size, smart access, and all-terrain versatility. Offered in two torso sizes for a more dialed fit, it’s the “just-right” pack for full-day missions — combining back-panel entry, compression-molded comfort, and premium [ak] durability without unnecessary bulk. Complementing it, the Burton Sidehill series bridges the gap between resort and backcountry riding. Designed for everyday versatility with snow-specific features and a lighter build, it meets the growing demand for compact, functional packs that can handle both lift-access terrain and short hikes beyond the ropes. Together, the Dispatcher and Sidehill styles cover the full spectrum of snowboard carry solutions — from dedicated backcountry performance to agile, all-day resort functionality.

Are there any observable trends in the practice of snowboarding that impact product demand and development?
Yes – snowboarding is evolving toward a more exploration-driven mindset. Riders are increasingly blending resort laps with backcountry missions, creating demand for lighter, more technical, and highly versatile gear. Splitboarding, sidecountry hiking, and lift-access touring have become part of many riders’ regular snow experience, not just for core freeriders. This shift is directly shaping Burton’s product development — particularly in technical backpacks designed to move seamlessly between environments. The [ak] Dispatcher and Sidehill series reflect this evolution, combining backcountry-ready functionality with ergonomic snowboard-specific design. Both integrate key features like tool sleeves, hydration compatibility, and snow-shedding materials while maintaining comfort and freedom of movement for active riding. In short, the trend is clear: snowboarders want gear that performs wherever the mountain takes them — and Burton’s technical packs are built precisely for that versatility.

What are the technical highlights in construction and materials of your 2026/27 collection?
All packs use durable Cordura® nylon with a PU-coated top panel for weather protection, while 500D Cordura® side panels add structure and durability. A compression-molded back panel improves comfort, stability, and protection. Thoughtful access details make organization easy: the 25L and 35L have back-panel entry so you can reach inside without removing your board. All styles have dedicated Avalanche tool pockets with color coded zippers pullers to keep safety gear close at hand. The 18L and Vest have their safety tool pockets integrated into the main compartment. All sizes have a integrated and stowable helmet carry.
