Which of your snow-safety products for 2025/2026 do you expect to be bestsellers, and why?
Vogt: nivia is a new brand for safety equipment in winter sports, and in October 2026 we’ll be launching a product we expect to be very successful: the nivia 3D finder. It is the world’s first avalanche transceiver that uses a GPS-based 3D algorithm, allowing rescuers to locate buried individuals up to 30 percent faster.
Are there trends in snowboarding or mountain sports that influence product demand and development?
Vogt: The avalanche transceivers available on the market in winter 2025/26 are all based on antenna technology that originated in the 1960s and has been developed over the past 50 years. With our new transceiver, nivia is not offering just another improvement, but a true innovation: in addition to the proven three-antenna technology, the 3D finder uses GPS technology. The device displays the direct route to the buried person, significantly reducing search time. Safety in winter sports is not a trend – it’s about saving lives.
What are the technical highlights of your product in W26/27?
Vogt: As briefly mentioned, in addition to the traditional magnetic field lines, the 3D finder creates its own GPS coordinate system using newly developed 3D technology. The device is compatible with all avalanche transceivers on the market. Using the patented algorithm, the exact position of the buried person can be determined to the centimeter as soon as the first signals are received. From a distance of about three meters, the 3D finder supports precise location with a guided fine search. The subsequent probing is then only required for confirmation and marking of the discovery site. We’ve also added additional features: instead of batteries, the device has a powerful, cold-resistant battery with a 300-hour runtime. Additional functions such as an automatic emergency call, power bank capability, and a new app complete the performance package for users.
How do you support retailers in selling this category?
Retailers receive demo devices, detailed explanatory videos, and POS materials that make the 3D finder’s functionality easy to understand and experience. In addition, we will offer extensive retailer training sessions at the start of the season.
