Solite Wetsuit boots F/W 2026 Preview
Retail Buyers Guide: Wetsuits F/W 2026 Retail Buyer’s Guide
Brand: Solite
Interviewee: Marketing Team
After a few seasons of (mostly) carryovers, fresh pieces were introduced in FW25. How did things pan out saleswise?
FW25 delivered consistent sell-through across core cold-water markets, supported by Solite’s strong positioning around fit, warmth and performance. Beyond boots, the introduction of hooded solar rashguards and the redesigned surf cap added incremental business and were well received by both retailers and consumers, reinforcing brand visibility during shoulder seasons and winter.
The Fall/Winter collection is where innovations and new models come to life: which are the key additions to your range for FW26?
Solite has new developments prepared for FW26, but these have not yet been officially launched or presented. As such, details will be communicated at a later stage through official brand channels. From a buying perspective, it is important to highlight that all upcoming developments continue to build on Solite’s core strengths: material innovation, precision fitting and thermal protection, ensuring continuity within the range while delivering meaningful performance upgrades rather than cosmetic changes.
Most wetsuit brands contained the rise of prices so far. Will FW26 remain stable regarding pricepoints?
The intention for FW26 is to maintain stable price positioning, protecting retailer margins and avoiding unnecessary price pressure on consumers. Any adjustments will be driven by external cost factors rather than strategic repositioning of the brand.
Do you notice a discrepancy between the sales ratio of premium wetsuits and entry-level ones?
In colder and more technical surf regions, demand clearly leans toward premium, performance-led boots, where surfers quickly perceive the value of improved fit, reduced flushing and warmth. Entry-level models remain relevant in milder climates and for occasional winter use, allowing retailers to build a balanced offer.
The shift to non-petroleum based foam is close to the take over. Are you relying on established suppliers or developing your own proprietary technologies, as seen among some brands for a couple years?
Rather than focusing on proprietary foam development, Solite’s strategy centres on how materials are used, through construction, sole architecture and fit systems. The brand’s competitive edge lies in delivering tangible performance benefits via design and fit, not marketing-led material claims.
Any innovations in the linings for 2026?
Specific lining innovations are in place for FW26 but will be disclosed closer to launch. As with previous seasons, the focus remains on improving thermal efficiency and comfort, particularly for extended cold-water sessions.
Do you notice any difference in the consumer habits of women? (wetsuit thickness, entry/closure systems, colors…)
Women increasingly prioritise precise fit, comfort and ease of entry, while still demanding high thermal performance. Clean, understated aesthetics are gaining importance, but warmth and functionality remain the primary drivers at point of sale.
Please briefly mention the repair/recycle programs offered by your brand.
Warranty claims are very limited, reflecting product durability. When claims do occur, Solite’s priority is to extend product lifespan wherever possible. Products that can no longer be sold are frequently donated to NGOs, helping young surfers access equipment and reinforcing a responsible, community-driven approach.
How are you helping retailers to sell more suits?
While Solite continues to grow its direct-to-consumer online business, retail remains a key pillar of the brand’s strategy. Retail support focuses on:
- Staff education, particularly around sizing and the heat-molding process,
- Clear range segmentation by temperature and use-case,
- Strong product storytelling, making performance benefits easy to communicate and reducing post-purchase issues.
This approach consistently leads to stronger sell-through and lower return rates.
