Thirtytwo Snowboard Bindings F/W 2026/27 Preview

Retail Buyers Guide:  Snowboard Bindings F/W 2026/27 Retail Buyer’s Guide
Brand:  Thirtytwo
Interviewee: ThirtyTwo Boot and Bindings Designer/Merchandiser

How would you describe the 2025/26  snowboard binding season in terms of market performance and consumer demand?
Thirtytwo launched its first binding collection for the 2025/26 season and the brand has seen strong demand. The brand launched with the T32M FASE binding model with a Chris Bradshaw signature colorway, a Pat Fava signature colorway, a Volcom collaboration and a black and orange colorway.  We experienced strong overall demand with great retailer buy-in and a strong consumer response.

What current trends are shaping the snowboard binding market (pricing, consumer preferences, retail shifts, rider demographics)?
For thirtytwo we see innovation as the biggest trend shaping the binding market. The thirtytwo consumer wants both fast entry and the feel of a two-strap binding, and with FASE tech we are able to provide them with the next generation of innovation. FASE™ is proud to unveil the patented FASE Fast Entry System, a breakthrough in snowboard binding technology: a fast entry system that enhances the locked-in feel of traditional two-strap bindings, while delivering the same high-performance, all-day comfort, and natural board feel. FASE is redefining the future of modern bindings and is compatible with any boots.

From changing consumer behavior to tariffs and supply chain stress, what’s been the biggest challenge for your brand recently?
The biggest challenge we faced recently were tariffs while launching the first collection of thirtytwo bindings.  It has been a relief to weather the tariffs and see strong retailer demand for thirtytwo T32M FASE bindings.

BRAND FOCUS

What is your brand’s core mission or philosophy, and how does it influence the way you design and position your bindings?
thirtytwo has always been rider-driven. T32M is in the name of the first binding we created for a reason. All of our snowboarding products are made with the team in mind and that 100% influences the way we design and position our bindings. The team that tested and rides the ThirtyTwo includes heavy hitters Scott Stevens, Pat Fava, Chris Bradshaw, Joe Sexton, Ellie Weiler, Cody Warble and Scott Blum.

How has your brand evolved in the snowboard binding market over the past few years?
Thirtytwo has more than three decades of creating rider-driven snowboarding boots, outerwear and accessories.  We are new to the binding game in 2025 and we feel that is a good thing.  We are bringing a technology and design that is innovative and pushing evolution of bindings forward.

Who is your target rider for the 26/27 season, and how has that profile changed in recent seasons?
We are making bindings for every rider that lives for days on the hill.  This can be seen from our new affordably priced Basin model all the way up to thirtytwo’s higher-end T32M XLT Carbon.

Which product ranges or binding styles do you anticipate driving the most growth in 26/27?
With the T32M binding off to a great start we foresee overall growth at the high end with the XLT carbon and we’re expecting the Basin to make a big splash with technology at an attractive price point.

BINDING SPECIFIC

What new technical innovations are you introducing for 26/27 (buckles, straps, highbacks, baseplates, heel cups, etc.)?
For its second binding collection, thirtytwo is offering several technical innovations.  The line has expanded from one style, the T32M, to include the new Basin and T32M XLT Carbon models.  The new tech in the T32M XLT Carbon is in the name – the binding features a stiff flex carbon fiber high back, with nylon glass fiber baseplate offering response and connection to your board. The Basin is engineered for those looking for a softer binding with a molded foam base plate for dampening and increased board feel, a Foundation Foam base plate and low-profile lightning ladder strap.  All three models include aluminium rachets and stainless steel hardware for lightweight durability.

Are you exploring new materials, construction techniques, or performance features in your bindings?
Thirtytwo is exploring new materials and performance features for the 26/27 collection.  In addition to the carbon fiber and molded foam base plates mentioned above, the brand has added a TPU/EVA footbed and gas pedal for high response and board feel.

Do you have any new design directions, collaborations, or special editions for the 26/27 line?
Thirtytwo is introducing these team rider signature colorways and collaborations and for 26/27:

  • Scott Stevens Signature T32M binding in camo
  • Pat Fava Signature T32M binding in black and white with a barbed wire thirtytwo logo
  • thirtytwo x Volcom T32M binding
  • thirtytwo x Public Basin binding

Are you developing or expanding quick-entry / step-in binding systems, and how do you see demand for them evolving?
Thirtytwo has gone all-in on FASE binding technology. We see demand for fast entry two-strap bindings continuing to grow into the future. FASE is the next generation two-strap snowboard binding system. The FASE Fast Entry System enhances the locked-in feel of traditional two-strap bindings, combined with an ultra fast strapping in process, while delivering unmatched high-performance all-day comfort and a natural board feel. Key Advantages of the FASE System:

  • Effortless fast entry and exit
