Retail Buyers Guide:  Snowboard Bindings F/W 2026/27 Retail Buyer’s Guide
Brand:  Bataleon
Interviewee: Ruben Kiebert (Global Sales Director) ⁃ Tom Johnson (Global Marketing Director) ⁃ Zofia Zapiec (European Marketing Coordinator)

How would you describe the 2024/25  snowboard binding season in terms of market performance and consumer demand?
The 24/25 season saw a fairly consistent demand for high-end two-strap snowboard bindings. This trend was primarily driven by experienced riders, who dive into the details regarding performance, materials, tech, and specs. However, details surrounding the FASE® system leaked into the world (thanks, Internet) and we’ve seen a record number of questions and conversations surrounding the new binding platform.

What current trends are shaping the snowboard binding market (pricing, consumer preferences, retail shifts, rider demographics)?
There’s a clear shift toward faster, more convenient binding systems, with quick-entry models seeing major growth, and driving excitement at retail. It’s become clear that snowboarders are willing to invest their hard-earned dollars in products that prioritize technology, comfort, and performance.

From changing consumer behavior to tariffs and supply chain stress, what’s been the biggest challenge for your brand recently?
The biggest challenge recently has been keeping up with strong demand supporting Bataleon’s FASE® binding models. We’re consistently seeing demand outpacing on-hand inventory.

BRAND FOCUS

What is your brand’s core mission or philosophy, and how does it influence the way you design and position your bindings?
We will choose not to share too much about our broader brand strategy. Still, our focus remains on driving innovation for dedicated snowboarders who expect the highest performance from their gear.

How has your brand evolved in the snowboard binding market over the past few years?
Bataleon is proud to be one of the original four brands integrated into the launch of the FASE® binding system. In addition to our FASE® integration, consistent refinement of materials, shaping, buckles, and more is part of the binding development process. We’re always striving to improve our product offering, and lean on our Team Riders, retail partners, and conversations in the lift line for insights.

Who is your target rider for the 26/27 season, and how has that profile changed in recent seasons?
We will choose not to share too much about our broader brand strategy. Still, our focus remains on driving innovation for dedicated snowboarders who expect the highest performance from their gear.

Which product ranges or binding styles do you anticipate driving the most growth in 26/27?
Bataleon is 100% invested into the future. Working hand in hand with the Team at FASE®, we’re going to continue investing and innovating to bring the FASE® Fast Entry System to more consumers. We’re excited to announce the release of a new chassis for the 26/27 season, and will not be slowing down any time soon.

BINDING SPECIFIC

What new technical innovations are you introducing for 26/27 (buckles, straps, highbacks, baseplates, heel cups, etc.)?
Doubling down on our commitment to progression and innovation, we’ve developed the MonoFrame™ chassis. This all-new binding platform expands the Bataleon offering and integrates FASE® technology into the all-new Ghost Men’s and Women’s models. Featuring a wide size range, an updated AutoBack Highback for added tweak-ability, and our premium strap package, these bindings deliver top-tier performance with a seamless, one-piece feel—at a price point that puts innovation within reach.

Do you have any new design directions, collaborations, or special editions for the 26/27 line?
For 26/27, we’re continuing our collaboration with Bataleon pro rider Tor Lundström across both the snowboard and binding platforms. In addition to his (newly redesigned) Signature Tornado snowboard, we are also continuing to work with Tor on his Signature Blaster AsymWrap™ Pro FASE® binding model. This is a high-performance, fast-entry snowboard binding designed to push the boundaries of snowboarding.

Are you developing or expanding quick-entry / step-in binding systems, and how do you see demand for them evolving?
Bataleon was part of the initial FASE launch and will continue to evolve its FASE offering in the 2627 season, adding women ‘s-specific models and an all-new Chassis. This line expansion offers a FASE option for every type of rider and budget.

Are you focusing on specific customer segments (freeride, freestyle, women’s-specific, youth, entry-level) for 26/27?
Without sharing too much of our brand playbook, it’s safe to say that it’s always a wise decision to invest into the youth. The youth is pushing boundaries in communication styles, trick progression, product demands, and holds the purchasing power of tomorrow. The kids are alright…
