Nidecker Snowboard Bindings F/W 2026/27 Preview
Retail Buyers Guide: Snowboard Bindings F/W 2026/27 Retail Buyer’s Guide
Brand: Nidecker
Interviewee: Santiago de Santa Catalina, Nidecker Bindings Product Manager
How would you describe the 2024/25 snowboard binding season in terms of market performance and consumer demand?
Pretty good! Sell-through is on point, customers are excited, retail are doing a great job with storytelling, we’re in a good place.
What current trends are shaping the snowboard binding market (pricing, consumer preferences, retail shifts, rider demographics)?
Simple. If it’s innovative and modern and offers tangible consumer benefit, it’s selling well. If it doesn’t, well…it isn’t.
From changing consumer behavior to tariffs and supply chain stress, what’s been the biggest challenge for your brand recently?
You just named them J but we’re keeping the ship straight in unstable seas, and so far we’re happy with the job we’re doing.
BRAND FOCUS
What is your brand’s core mission or philosophy, and how does it influence the way you design and position your bindings?
Different by Design. Every rider has their own style. At Nidecker, we embrace that difference. From tricks to technology, originality is what drives progression and keeps us all stoked.
How has your brand evolved in the snowboard binding market over the past few years?
Well, that’s clear to pretty much everyone. What started with bringing Flow into Nidecker as Flow Design has evolved into a future-first two-strap program and of course the Supermatic® – the binding which changed the game for everyone, now expanding across brands and customer bases worldwide, growing snowboarding by making riding better for everyone who uses it.
Who is your target rider for the 26/27 season, and how has that profile changed in recent seasons?
No changes here
Which product ranges or binding styles do you anticipate driving the most growth in 26/27?
Supermatic®
BINDING SPECIFIC
What new technical innovations are you introducing for 26/27 (buckles, straps, highbacks, baseplates, heel cups, etc.)?
For sure. Innovation is in Nidecker’s DNA and we can’t let a collection go by without introducing some new tech and even some new binding models. Our key new components are:
NEW Nylon+ Auto S Baseplate: Our enhanced Supermatic® baseplate combines stylish new design with improved performance. Stronger build quality ensures durability, while increased rockered corners enhance board flex and eliminate dead spots. This new baseplate will refresh the Carbon and LT Supermatic® models.
NEW Uni-Frame Fusion Strap: A one-piece strap made from injected TPU for lightweight durability and weatherproof performance. Integrated ladder guides improve set-up, while the asymmetric shape delivers seamless speed entry and enhanced lateral support. Available on the Flow Nexus, our best-seller for an unbeatable entry-price for a semi-automatic binding.
NEW Alu/Nylon+ Module Baseplate: For our all-new flagship Two-Strap model, the Orbit series, a glass-filled nylon construction with aluminum heelcup precision. Fully adjustable with three heelcup positions, dual toe-strap settings and independent footbed adjustment. Asym design and 2.5º canted EVA footbed optimize edge control.
NEW InfinityBack Highback: Our flagship Two-Strap highback featuring lightweight nylon construction or enhanced with 14% glass fiber for increased stiffness on the Pro version. The Gecko Grip heel pad eliminates boot movement while EVA cushioning adds comfort. Super adjustable with four forward lean and two rotation positions.
NEW Uni-Frame Ankle Strap: One-piece injected TPU construction provides lightweight durability and weatherproof performance. Features an integrated ladder guide and asymmetric design for all-day comfort with enhanced lateral support.
NEW Toe Capsule Toe Strap: A clean, streamlined design that enables dual positioning – stick it across the toe box for a classic fit, or over the top of your foot for a modern freestyle flavor. Compatible with any boot shape.
NEW Offset Multi-Disk: Our refreshed standard binding disk can be mounted on four-hole or Channel inserts. The hole patterns are offset from the center for more toe-heel or stance-width adjustability. A space on the back lets you insert an Apple AirTag to keep track of your gear.
Are you exploring new materials, construction techniques, or performance features in your bindings?
We’re sticking with our tried and trusted materials this season. Honestly those are so dialled-in, we’re very satisfied with our materials and quality. But this year we’re paying close attention to the exact mix of nylon, glass and/or carbon in each component to achieve the precise stiffness we need for each model. At the top end, getting this right is what allows our top riders to make the most of the critical connection between boot and board.
Do you have any new design directions, collaborations, or special editions for the 26/27 line?
Nidecker’s motto is Different By Design, having all departments aligned and heading in the same direction, with the common goal of bringing groundbreaking technology with unique personality and state-of-art design. For this upcoming collection, you’ll see clean and timeless Black and White binding colorways, present in all of our ranges, Supermatic®, Flow Design and Two-Strap, sharing some common details like our hit color Rolle-Red, which matches the overall branding of Nidecker. And then, from a top-performance Carbon Supermatic®, having been substantially updated, and matching our stellar Blade Pro snowboard graphic, to few seasonal and trendy colorways for our refreshed LT Supermatic®. We’ll also have an LT Supermatic® and Orbit, with a super-fun color match to our new iconic Tape Deck snowboard, that surely will be the most-hyped from the line. But of course, we’ll drop some exclusive editions, such as the spicy Camo LT Supermatic®, or the gold specked Stardust colorway that will be only available on your favourite brick-and-mortar store! Shops first, brand second. Another key brand story this year is our extended line of true twin boards, so we’ve matched them up with dedicated binding graphics – a great example being the Heat Map motif on the Sensor Pro and Orbit Pro, or the Viking combo for our top Norwegian rider Mons Røisland.
Are you developing or expanding quick-entry / step-in binding systems, and how do you see demand for them evolving?
Hell yeah! This is what we’re all about. Supermatic® has of course been the most disruptive snowboard product in recent history, and for Winter 2027 it’s available in more styles and color options than ever. A substantially updated Carbon Supermatic® will keep its place at the top of the line, offering the ultimate mix of rapid entry and lightning response. Similar for the LT Supermatic®, optimized now with the new Auto S baseplate with smooth design, available in plenty of colorways and collaborations, and then, of course our beloved OG Supermatic as a standard coming in two new color options, as well as white and black. Finally, our Flow Design collection blends tried and trusted speed entry with a unique riding feel that comes from the legendary Power Triangle. Refined over decades, these bindings have proved themselves in all conditions and earned a loyal army of fans.
What steps are you taking toward sustainability and ethical production in bindings — whether in materials, processes, or lifecycle?
We’ve optimized, minimized and organized to make sure that our factories and logistics partners are as low-footprint as we can, so we’re satisfied that we’re in a good place here.
Are you focusing on specific customer segments (freeride, freestyle, women’s-specific, youth, entry-level) for 26/27?
Our goal is to appeal to every rider with the most comprehensive binding range on the market. Period. Choose lightning fast entry with Supermatic®; precision performance with Two-Strap; or flip it and rip it with the Flow Design collection. Whichever way you go, rest easy that every one of our bindings offers the same rock-solid build quality and that connected feel which you only get with straps.
