Taghazout Surf Expo, Morocco 23-26th October Preview
In just three editions, Taghazout Surf Expo has become Africa’s leading professional surf trade show. Each year, over 80 exhibitors and 40,000 visitors from gear brands, surfwear companies, shapers, surf schools and camps, tour operators, nonprofits and eco-projects, gather in a 4,000 m² surf village just steps from the ocean.

The 4th edition, taking place from October 23 to 26, 2025, promises an even more vibrant experience: a bustling trade show, thought-provoking talks and workshops focused on passing on surf culture to youth, empowering women in the surf ecosystem, and protecting coastal and marine environments — plus inspiring guest speakers, training sessions, and the one-of-a-kind Taghazout atmosphere with free concerts and DJ sets

Designed as a professional trade show contributing to the economic development of the region, Taghazout Surf Expo remains a public event that brings together residents through sports and cultural activities, all representative of the surfing way of life.
Located in front of the legendary surfing spot of Anchor Point, known to surfers worldwide, the exhibition village is a temporary installation designed with environmental sustainability in mind. Over four days, it is expected to host 40,000 visitors, who will stroll among the 80 plus booths representing surf schools, surf camps, specialized travel agencies, surfwear brands, equipment suppliers. And not to to forget the institutional partners and sports associations, whose presence is strengthened this year with clubs from across the country. A true village within the village, the space of the Royal Moroccan Surf Federation (FRMS) is also expanding to offer more meetings, training sessions, and masterclasses.

This year the roundtable “Surf Cities and Villages Morocco” will build on the work initiated during Taghazout Surf Expo 2024, which led to the creation of a steering committee (COPIL) bringing together key players from the surf industry, tourism, local authorities, civil society, and academia.
This year aims to formalise the governance of the future label and define its first operational foundations in terms of framework, pilot sites, and support mechanisms. This initiative is fully aligned with Morocco’s national priorities under the Blue Economy program, with the ambition to strengthen the visibility, sustainability, and competitiveness of Morocco’s surf destinations.
Researchers presenting at the event include Stéphanie CRABECK, HEPH Condorcet (Belgium), ULYSSE Lab-network, Taghazout Surf Expo, Mokhtar EL MAHOUAL, Ibn Zohr University (Morocco), Nawal BENABDALLAH & Oussama ALAMI MARROUNI, International University of Rabat, John VAN DEN PLAS, EPHEC (Belgium), ULYSSE Lab-network and Christophe GUIBERT, University of Angers (France)
