Interviewee: Bob Plumb Global Marketing Manager

In 2 sentences – how was the women’s snow outerwear market in 2025/26?
The 2025/26 women’s outerwear market saw steady growth driven by riders seeking true performance gear that didn’t compromise on style, fit, or identity. More women demanded purpose-built designs—not resized men’s silhouettes—and gravitated toward brands offering real function with rider-driven creativity.

What are the main trends you take your inspiration from for 2026/27?
For 26/27 we’re inspired by rider-led design, clean utility, and the ongoing shift toward true women’s-specific fits that honor both function and expression. Key influences include ’90s silhouettes, workwear elements, and elevated technical fabrics that deliver performance without overcomplicating the design.

What new jacket fits and pant silhouettes are coming out in 2026/27?
The Fairfield Cargo Pant continues to anchor our fit story as a true oversized women’s pant—designed by the team—not adapted from the men’s line, and for 26/27 we’ve expanded it into a full Fairfield Jacket + Pant kit. This includes Brantley Mullins’ signature Burnt Rose colorway, showcasing the influence our riders bring to design. The Chroma Women’s collection introduces a 10K/10K price-point option with updated shaping and new Julia Campbell artist-collab prints that deliver strong storytelling and accessible shelf appeal.

Tell us about colours and prints:
26/27 highlights include the new Women’s Jungle Print, along with rider-driven color stories such as Brantley Mullins’ Burnt Rose Fairfield Kit and Christy Prior’s signature colorway, both adding depth and personality to the line. The women’s Chroma range features an exclusive artist collaboration with Julia Campbell, bringing fresh graphic energy to the collection. Our palette blends earthy tones, washed neutrals, soft pastels, and core blacks to create a balanced and versatile offering across the women’s line.

Any *NEW* technical stories with regards to fabrics and materials?
Our leading innovation is Nova-X Pro™, a next-generation 3-layer shell with 4-way mechanical stretch and a bamboo charcoal membrane for breathability, thermoregulation, and odor control. Across the women’s line we also introduce elevated durability and mobility fabrics such as FlexShell, DuraDobby, ForgedWeave, RipGuard, and Coterra. All insulated styles use NovaLoft, our high-performance, 100% recycled insulation.

How are you addressing sustainability topics, not only in production of your products (materials, transportation, packaging) but also their after-life / repurposing?
We build outerwear with a purpose. For us, sustainability isn’t a trend it’s a responsibility. From the fabrics we choose to the way we manufacture, we focus on creating high-quality, long-lasting gear that minimizes waste and performs season after season.
By manufacturing to order, we avoid overproduction, prevent unnecessary waste, and eliminate the need for heavy mid-winter discounting, keeping products out of landfills and preserving their value. We were one of the first outerwear brands to transition to PFC-free DWR and continue integrating recycled materials throughout the line, including 100% recycled polyester insulation. Our approach blends performance, durability, and responsibility so every piece is built to last and stay in circulation—not end up as waste.

How are you targeting the female boardsports clients?
We design women’s outerwear from the ground up—led by female rider feedback and real on-snow testing ensuring every piece fits, performs, and feels right for female snowboarders. From the expanded Fairfield Kit to rider-driven colorways from Christy Prior and Brantley Mullins, we focus on authenticity, representation, and building gear made specifically for women.

Any trends that your brand is moving away from?
We’re moving away from shrinking men’s styles to fit women and from trend-driven designs that don’t serve real riding needs. Instead, we’re investing in clean, functional silhouettes, durable fabrics, and identity-driven pieces that reflect the individuality and progression of women in snowboarding.

What are your big marketing campaigns for 2026/27?
Our lead message is Defend the Culture, championing riders, local shops, and the communities that shape snowboarding. Major storytelling moments include the expanded Fairfield Jacket + Pant kit, the Women’s Jungle Print, signature colorways from Christy Prior and Brantley Mullins, and the Women’s price point Chroma line featuring artwork by Julia Campbell—supported by rider-driven content and authentic team-led campaigns across the season.

Key Products:

Brantley Mullins Fairfield collection:
The baggy fit is exactly how I’ve always wanted it, stylish, comfortable and made to ride in all day. My “Burnt Rose” colorway is for the girls, and the little cowboy boot detail ties it back to my southern roots. It means a lot to wear outerwear that reflects who I am, and to work with a brand that truly listens to its riders. The Fairfield line is the result of that collaboration.

Christy Prior Ventura Collection:
So many of us are particular about the fit and feel of our outerwear and the Ventura kit is fit perfection. Pavlova inspired in color – an iconic New Zealand dessert, it’s subtle but still makes a statement. My favorite outerwear kit yet.

Julia Cambell artist Women’s chroma collection:
The monarch butterfly has become one of my staple graphics as I love that each one I paint is completely unique to one another. This butterfly is a symbol of change and resilience, something I feel like we can all relate to! The chains I had painted on my personal snowpants last season, I love how the repetitive design looks along the side of the snow pant, brining urban elements to the backcountry! The more detail, opinion, description & comment you give us, the more we can feature you.
