Shops 1st Try was heaving at the seams in Hochfugen as 1,461 registered attendees from 38 countries crowded into the test village for 3 days of testing.
The 265 shops and 59 distributors plus numerous industry figures that attended kept the brands busy all day both outdoor and indoor whilst the evening activities in Fugen were all well attended.
During the event 10954 products were tested by shops, industry, media and staff compared to 10251 products at last year’s event. Of these figures shops tested 8185 (4305 Boards, 3011 bindings, 362 boots, 507 accessories) compared to 7548 products. (3812 Boards, 2853 bindings, 341 boots, 542 accessories) for the prior year.
The top 5 brands tested overall where Jones followed by Nitro, Burton, Rome and Thirtytwo. Test results of each of the product categories was as follows; for boards: Capita then Jones, Nitro, Burton, Salomon with the Ride Vantum being the most tested: for boots Deeluxe then Burton, Thirtytwo, Nidecker and Nitro with Burtons Highshot x Mens Step On model the most tested: for bindings it was Union then Jones Rome Nitro and Burton with Fase and Supermatic’s models taking the top 4 positions with the Union Neo in fifth spot and for accessories Oakley then Anon Dragon Smith and Giro with Oakley having 3 of the top 5 and Anon the other two..
