How would you describe the 2024/25 snowboard boot season in terms of market performance and consumer demand?
The 24/25 season was the Boot Collection launch year for the Bataleon brand, and we could not have been more excited about how the model line was received. We’re so grateful to our retail partners for placing us on their boot walls and getting us on the feet of snowboarders across the globe.

What major trends are currently shaping the snowboard boot market (pricing, consumer preferences, retail shifts)?
The largest trend in snowboard boots over the past few years has been the addition of a lace cover. While this has stemmed from functionality, it’s quickly become an aesthetic focus.

From changing consumer behavior to tariffs and supply chain stress, what’s been the biggest challenge for your brand recently?
The 25/26 Collection marks Bataleon’s second season offering products to snowboarders across the globe, and we are equal parts excited and grateful for the support we’ve received. Connecting with riders in the boot pack and having deep conversations with our retail partners about how we can continue to build on this collection has been so rewarding and has us very fired up to keep innovating.

BRAND FOCUS

What is your brand’s core mission or philosophy, and how does it influence snowboard boot development?
At Bataleon, evolution and progression have always been our #1 priority. Every season we level up – not just our product, but also as a brand. The founders are still at the helm, but today Bataleon is driven by a young, creative team of engineers, designers, team riders, and marketers who keep us moving forward. This aligns perfectly with the stage in the progression of our boot line. Consistently pushing for a better product, a better experience, and deeper days.

How has your brand evolved in the snowboard boot category over the past few years?
The 25/26 Collection marks Bataleon’s second season offering products to snowboarders across the globe, and we are equal parts excited and grateful for the support we’ve received. Connecting with riders in the boot pack and having deep conversations with our retail partners about how we can continue to build on this collection has been so rewarding and has us very fired up to keep innovating.

Who is your target rider for 26/27, and how has this profile shifted compared to recent seasons?
We will choose not to share too much about our broader brand strategy. Still, our focus remains on driving innovation for dedicated snowboarders who expect the highest performance from their gear.

Which boot ranges or categories (freestyle, freeride, all-mountain, beginner) do you expect to drive the most growth in 26/27?
Snowboard shops across the globe have done an incredible job educating consumers on the importance of investing into their snowboard boots. This information becoming more wide-spread has lead to an uptick in the high-end snowboard boot market, and we’re seeing that through support of our ACID and SALSA boot models.

BOOTS SPECIFIC

Are you introducing any new or innovative materials (outer shell, reinforcement, cushioning, support, grip) in your 26/27 collection?
For 26/27 collection, our primary focus in development was improving in-store fit and providing better value to consumers. We’ve redesigned the outer shell and liner patterns across the entire collection – targeting a more performance-focused fit on the ACID and SALSA models, with a more comfort-focused fit on the RAVE and TWIST models. Our most performance model, the ACID, received a redesigned outer gaiter to improve functionality of the zipper closure and allow for a wider opening for easy entry. The Men’s and Women’s RAVE have been redesigned from the ground up, with an articulating cuff to reduce shell distortion and improve the boot’s overall flex and feel. Our TWIST snowboard boot models saw a redesign for its 2627 release – converting the same flex, comfort, and feel of the original model with an H5/M+2 BOA® configuration.

What updates or innovations are you making to liner technology or liner programs?
All of Bataleon’s liners are 100% heat-moldable, as we believe that the best-fitting snowboard boot is paramount to a great day on the mountain. To ensure the best possible fit, we’ve made pattern adjustments to all three liner levels for the 26/27 season, adding material to improve heel support and improving liner lacing materials.

What lacing systems will you emphasize in the 26/27 boot line, and why?
We’ve integrated the all-new BOA® H5 Coiler across the entire snowboard boot collection, allowing for unmatched performance, durability, and adjustability.

What are the dominant design directions for 26/27 — patterns, colors, materials, artist collaborations, or partnerships?
For 2627, we focused our design on using more muted tones, with crisp pop colors added to each boot. Taking inspiration from footwear we’ve also included several references to classic outdoor and street styles.

Are you focusing on any particular customer segments (freeride, freestyle, women’s-specific, youth, entry-level) for 26/27?
Without sharing too much of our brand playbook, it’s safe to say that it’s always a wise decision to invest into the youth. The youth is pushing boundaries in communication styles, trick progression, product demands, and holds the purchasing power of tomorrow. The kids are alright…
