Flux Snowboard Boots F/W 2026/27 Preview
Retail Buyers Guide: Snowboard Boots F/W 2026/27 Retail Buyer’s Guide
Brand: Flux
Interviewee: Marketing Team
How would you describe the 2024/25 snowboard boot season in terms of market performance and consumer demand?
As leisure options diversify, fewer riders snowboard casually. This shift favors gear specialized by style over all-purpose equipment.
What major trends are currently shaping the snowboard boot market (pricing, consumer preferences, retail shifts)?
Snowboarders today are becoming more particular about how their gear fits. Many are looking for a customized fit that feels just right. There is also a growing demand for boots that securely hold the heel in place, offering better control and comfort on the slopes.
From changing consumer behavior to tariffs and supply chain stress, what’s been the biggest challenge for your brand recently?
Tariffs and global instability have driven up raw material costs. Ensuring stable supply and price adjustment is an urgent challenge.
BRAND FOCUS
What is your brand’s core mission or philosophy, and how does it influence snowboard boot development?
At FLUX, we believe in blending innovation with comfort. Our designs reflect what riders truly value—fit, responsiveness, and style. Every detail is crafted to meet these expectations and enhance the riding experience.
How has your brand evolved in the snowboard boot category over the past few years?
We’ve focused on specialized segments, refining performance and fit to meet the demands of core riders and advanced users.
Who is your target rider for 26/27, and how has this profile shifted compared to recent seasons?
For 26/27, we target core freestyle and freeride riders. Focus has shifted from general appeal to specialized performance.
Which boot ranges or categories (freestyle, freeride, all-mountain, beginner) do you expect to drive the most growth in 26/27?
We expect freeride boots to drive growth, as demand rises for high performance and all-day comfort.
BOOTS SPECIFIC
Are you introducing any new or innovative materials (outer shell, reinforcement, cushioning, support, grip) in your 26/27 collection?
We have adopted the new Beads Cushion material and developed the world’s first automatically fitting liner.
What updates or innovations are you making to liner technology or liner programs?
We remain committed to promoting our groundbreaking liner, developed last year, which automatically adapts to the shape of the rider’s foot. In addition, we continue to incorporate valuable feedback from our Development Advisor, Terje Haakonsen, to refine and improve our products.
What lacing systems will you emphasize in the 26/27 boot line, and why?
We continue to focus on the BOA® system as our main closure technology. For our higher-end models, we have introduced the new H5 dial, which allows for more precise adjustments to achieve an ideal fit.
What are the dominant design directions for 26/27 — patterns, colors, materials, artist collaborations, or partnerships?
Last year, we welcomed Terje Haakonsen as our Development Advisor. Since then, we’ve been actively incorporating his valuable feedback into our product development. We’ve also introduced a new material called Beads Cushion into our world-first liner that automatically adapts to the shape of the foot, enhancing both comfort and fit.
What steps are you taking toward sustainability and ethical production in boots (materials, processes, lifecycle, packaging)?
We optimize logistics, source materials with minimal waste, and simplify packaging to reduce environmental impact.
Are you focusing on any particular customer segments (freeride, freestyle, women’s-specific, youth, entry-level) for 26/27?
For the 2026/2027 season, we are placing a strong focus on the core freestyle and freeride communities. Our goal is to develop products that truly meet the needs and preferences of these passionate riders.
