Deeluxe Snowboard Boots F/W 2026/27 Preview
Retail Buyers Guide: Snowboard Boots F/W 2026/27 Retail Buyer’s Guide
Brand: Deeluxe
Interviewee: Florian Heim, VP of Marketing
How would you describe the 2024/25 snowboard boot season in terms of market performance and consumer demand?
The 2024/25 snowboard boot season was impacted by inflation, leading to tighter consumer budgets. Despite this, demand for premium boots remains high, with quality prioritized over price. However, rising production costs and supply chain issues may drive prices up. Brands must offer strong value propositions to stay competitive, and many consumers are now waiting for sales to buy products.
What major trends are currently shaping the snowboard boot market (pricing, consumer preferences, retail shifts)?
In short, the market is focused on fit, comfort, customization, and eco-conscious products, with tech innovations and online retail playing a big role.
From changing consumer behavior to tariffs and supply chain stress, what’s been the biggest challenge for your brand recently?
The biggest challenges have been supply chain delays — with overseas shipments taking much longer than expected — and rising energy prices, which are driving up costs across the board. In addition, US tariffs remain a major concern.
BRAND FOCUS
What is your brand’s core mission or philosophy, and how does it influence snowboard boot development?
DEDICATED TO SNOWBOARDING:
The love of snowboarding—it’s as simple as that. Whether you spend your days lapping the local rope tow, sessioning the streets, or skinning into the unknown, this passion unites and defines us. And since the beginning, it’s served as our foundation. After all, DEELUXE is driven by a tight-knit crew of dedicated riders.
TEAM DRIVEN:
As part of this crew, our team riders have always been essential to DEELUXE’s vision and evolution. They both challenge and inspire us—and for this, we’re forever grateful. From the groms who spend their days mobbing the local hill to the pros stacking footage across the globe, we’re honored to call these riders our friends. Through the years, their support and guidance have played a crucial role in developing and refining our boots.
THE SNOWBOARD BOOT COMPANY:
At DEELUXE, we’re committed to enhancing your time on the snow. That’s why we work relentlessly to build the best boots for every riding style and type of terrain. Inspired and original, these boots deliver the comfort and performance you need—be it on the bunny hill, in the park, or during a first descent. No matter how or where you ride, we’re right with you, sharing every high five and pow slash that shapes your journey.
How has your brand evolved in the snowboard boot category over the past few years?
Innovation has always been at the core of our brand. We constantly push to evolve our products and our identity, while staying true to who we are and where we come from. Our focus has always been — and will always remain — on developing the best snowboard boots in the game. By maximizing comfort and performance, we make sure every rider can have the best possible time on their board, no matter the terrain or riding style.
Who is your target rider for 26/27, and how has this profile shifted compared to recent seasons?
Our target rider is anyone who demands innovation, comfort, and performance — and refuses to settle for anything less. As a brand fully dedicated to snowboard boots, we put all our energy into creating the perfect fit and feel. With our broad product range, we aim to provide every snowboarder with the ideal boots for their style and needs.
Which boot ranges or categories (freestyle, freeride, all-mountain, beginner) do you expect to drive the most growth in 26/27?
It’s always difficult to pinpoint a single category, especially as we increasingly see riders looking for products that cross traditional category-boundaries. Our team riders — like Kevin Backstrom, Ståle Sandbech, Madison Blackley, and Werni Stock — are perfect examples of combining freestyle roots with backcountry riding, and they need boots that can handle it all. To better meet these needs, we’ve introduced the ALL TERRAIN FREESTYLE segment within our lineup, designed to offer maximum versatility for riders who want it all.
BOOTS SPECIFIC
Are you introducing any new or innovative materials (outer shell, reinforcement, cushioning, support, grip) in your 26/27 collection?
Factory Tuned with Rapid React Modular Technology: In recent years, our focus has been on one key challenge: how to precisely control a boot’s flex—and help preserve the perfect flex from day one throughout its entire lifespan. Whether you prefer a stiffer or a softer boot, what matters most to us is tailoring flex to the demands of every riding style. As a result, we developed Rapid React Modular Technology. After introducing it with the ID Y-20, we’ve refined and expanded it—bringing this breakthrough to many models across the collection. Thanks to injected TPU tongues and flex guards, we can fine-tune flex with unmatched precision. The result? A whole new level of performance and responsiveness that lasts—day after day, season after season. Many of our boots now come Factory Tuned with Rapid React Modular Technology. Each boot has been precisely fine-tuned based on feedback from our team riders, core shops, and customers—ensuring every model delivers exactly the flex and feel it should. And for riders who prefer a classic ride, we continue to offer models with traditional highbacks and 3D molded EVA tongues—plus the option to customize them further with Flex Boosters, available as accessories.
What updates or innovations are you making to liner technology or liner programs?
Liners have always been a core focus for us — our first patent was for thermo-moldable liners. Since then, we’ve dedicated years of research and development to building an industry-leading liner program, fine-tuned for every type of rider. For the 26/27 season, we’re expanding this program with an all-new Women-Specific Liner, built on our proven Stage 3 liner. It’s perfectly tailored to the anatomy of the female foot and delivers the ideal balance of precision, support, and comfort. This liner combines soft, cozy materials that keep your feet warm with all the performance today’s progressive shredders demand. It offers an outstanding fit straight out of the box — and, of course, can be thermo-molded for a truly personalized fit.
What lacing systems will you emphasize in the 26/27 boot line, and why?
BOA® Fit System and our patented Smart Lace System.
What are the dominant design directions for 26/27 — patterns, colors, materials, artist collaborations, or partnerships?
Our in-house design team has created several coordinated color palettes based on extensive trend research and analysis, which have been applied to various models to highlight key features in the collection while maintaining overall cohesion throughout the line. Our lineup for the 26/27 season also includes two Signature models developed in close collaboration with Kevin Bäckström and Ståle Sandbech. For these, we hand over full creative control to the riders. Together with our lead designer, they shape every detail to make sure the boots look, feel, and ride exactly how they want them to — 100% their vision, built by DEELUXE. We’re also very stoked to keep our collaboration going with the Japanese core footwear brand AREth. The AREth Rin was crafted alongside the crew and put through its paces by the one and only Kazu Kokubo.
What steps are you taking toward sustainability and ethical production in boots (materials, processes, lifecycle, packaging)?
We’re all about making better boots — for riders and the planet. No plastic packaging, PVC-free materials, and boots built to last with smart upgrades like Flex Boosters and replaceable liners. In 2022, we introduced the world’s first snowboard boot made with Rise by Bloom, a bio-based foam derived from algae. We’ve expanded this approach with multiple models in the line now featuring Rise by Bloom, reducing our environmental footprint. Wherever possible, we also transport our products via rail or other low-impact methods. With our patent-pending Rapid React Modular Technology, we are able to build boots with fewer materials and parts without compromising performance. By cutting non-functional materials, these boots deliver high performance and maintain their flex from day one throughout their entire lifespan, lasting longer than conventional snowboard boots.
Are you focusing on any particular customer segments (freeride, freestyle, women’s-specific, youth, entry-level) for 26/27?
Like already written above, it’s important for us to offer the best boots for any terrain, riding style and skill level. What we notice a lot though is that many riders are looking for products that cross traditional category-boundaries.
