The Wave Bristol update, pool now reopened
Tuesday and the Wave is open and the English Para Surfing Champs will take place Wednesday and Thursday. Organisers apologised for the disruption, highlighted the Wavemakers’ efforts, and thanked the community for its unwavering support. Meanwhile Julian Topham, is stepping in as CEO during this transition to ensure the wave pool is operating during what should be one of its busiest months of the year. Founding visionary Nick Hounsfield posted a heartfelt appeal, expressing pride in the reopening and entrusting the future to Topham. With operations restored, the focus shifts to long‑term stability under new ownership, with essential surf lessons, events, and competitions back in motion.
