Japan’s Kimura Kira wins Mens Big Air gold at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026

 The 21-year-old led after the first run with an 89.00 for a backside 1980 melon grab, but dropped out of contention after a fall on his second attempt. He bounced back in style on his final jump, landing a switch backside 1980 to score 90.50 and seal victory with a combined total of 179.50. Compatriot and reigning world champion Kimata Ryoma took silver with 171.50, while defending Olympic champion Su Yiming of the People’s Republic of China claimed bronze on 168.50, becoming the first man to win two medals in the event. Kimata had led after two clean runs, while 17-year-old American Oliver Martin briefly sat in podium position before finishing fourth when Su improved his score.
