Rossignol Snowboard Bindings F/W 2026/27 Preview

Retail Buyers Guide:  Snowboard Bindings F/W 2026/27 Retail Buyer’s Guide
Brand:  Rossignol
Interviewee: ARNAUD REPA – SNB CATEGORY MGMT

How would you describe the 2024/25  snowboard binding season in terms of market performance and consumer demand?
Market down 5% vs 23/24 with the majority coming from the packaged offers while fast entry systems showed continued growth with the Fase debut and Burton-Union partnership.

What current trends are shaping the snowboard binding market (pricing, consumer preferences, retail shifts, rider demographics)?
Outside of the macro trends that are described in the snb questionnaire, fast entry systems are hot. With a will to make convenience meet performance and more pro-riders endorsing them. On the other side of the price line, packaged bindings look better and more techy every year. Which stands for the participation being constant and consumers looking for superior starter packs. Last, but never least, the availability of PA6, as a more environmentally friendly version of the PA66 the industry has been using to shoot bindings since day one, and PFAS-free fabrics has allowed us to bring products that will not only stand the test of time but also be harmless to the community and world. Which has been a growing demand from our key accounts for the past 6 years and is now spreading through all networks.

From changing consumer behavior to tariffs and supply chain stress, what’s been the biggest challenge for your brand recently?

BRAND FOCUS

What is your brand’s core mission or philosophy, and how does it influence the way you design and position your bindings?
core mission: Built to Ride. Proven to Perform. For nearly four decades, we’ve prioritized quality and function you can see, feel, and understand, delivering rider-focused technologies that make snowboarding easier, more intuitive, and more fun. This season, we’re introducing an affordable and industry first series of bindings that will let you dial in the right tension, allow custom fit, offer power transmission, superior tweak-ability, shock absorption and skill-building control while the absence of glue and EVA will make servicing and recycling a breeze.

How has your brand evolved in the snowboard binding market over the past few years?
Staying true to ourselves is challenging. Our goal is to grant everyone an access to the mountain through high quality standards on affordable and environmentally conscious products. Which has made us shift focus from shelf appeal to environmental R&D.

Who is your target rider for the 26/27 season, and how has that profile changed in recent seasons?
No change, we’re aiming at the following:
The Performer / 20+ days, core, team influenced
15% of riders
20% of business
The Balanced Active / 10 to 20 days, quality/price, tech features
35% of riders
40% of business
The Mountain vacationer / 1 day to 1 week, holidays, recreational, rental, value, lessons
50% of riders
40% of business

Which product ranges or binding styles do you anticipate driving the most growth in 26/27?
Fast entry systems.

BINDING SPECIFIC

What new technical innovations are you introducing for 26/27 (buckles, straps, highbacks, baseplates, heel cups, etc.)?
We’re introducing a new model that has no glue, no EVA and only 5 types of materials to facilitate disassembling and prioritize servicing and recycling. An industry first that can only make a difference if owners choose to co-operate. Which we hope they’ll do.

Are you exploring new materials, construction techniques, or performance features in your bindings?
From a performance standpoint, we’re bringing full length feelplates (between the baseplate and the board) and footbeds (between the baseplate and the boot) to improve traction, comfort, shock absorption and board feel on our new price point bindings. While those features are common on mid to high-end models, they are very rare, if they exist, on starter packs.

What steps are you taking toward sustainability and ethical production in bindings — whether in materials, processes, or lifecycle?
All our snb bindings are PFAS-free and made with recyclable Nylon (PA6). They deliver with no plastic bags in individual boxes made from natural recycled cardboard that have water based black ink prints. Each box can be recycled if disposed properly. The new models that we’re bringing for 26/27 have no coating, no varnish, no pad or screen prints, no glue and no EVA. Which means less carcinogenic compounds, less water and aluminum.

Are you focusing on specific customer segments (freeride, freestyle, women’s-specific, youth, entry-level) for 26/27?
Entry level.
