Brand: Thirtytwo
Interviewee: Susanne Dachgruber, thirtytwo Apparel Merchandise Director
In 2 sentences – how was the men’s snow outerwear market in 2025/26?
We received an excellent response from retailers on the thirtytwo outerwear collection in 2025/26, and with our deliveries on time this should be a great season for sell-through. Even with the tariffs a high point has been taking retailer input and having price sensitive high-quality outerwear accessible to consumers. Now we just need it to keep snowing!
What are the main trends you take your inspiration from for 2026/27?
For 2026/27 Thirtytwo is taking inspiration from these three types of snowboarders for its outerwear collection.
- Destroy Collection: Inspired by boarders that are loyal to the steel, those that spend their time on park laps and street rails. This is our most team fitting collection with 10k waterproofing and a focus on loose and boxy fits. The JIB GURL Collection is a good example. We also want to call out that thirtytwo upgraded all 5K pieces to 10k for 2026/27.
- Shred Collection: This part of the line takes inspo by snowboarders that ride the whole mountain like it is a skatepark. This 15k waterproofing part of the line includes the number 1 selling Basement Bib and the Lashed Insulated Jacket. You’ll see the thirtytwo custom tree camo in this line, which is something a lot of the team and retailers requested. Something new for next year in this part of the line is the way thirtytwo is giving boarders ways to customize their look. Examples are the removable hood on the Grasser jacket, cinching systems in multiple jackets and the velcro cuff on bottom of Blahzay Cargo.
- Slash Collection: New in this collection is the FASE compatible Cordura kick panel for improved durability with the new thirtytwo binding system. This collection features 20k waterproofing/breathability with 100% recycled fabrics is designed to meet the needs of the freerider who lives for drawn out turns in the side country. We focused on greatly reducing the weight of our 3-layer fabrics, while keeping key slash features like waist and wrist gaiters as well as fused and taped seams.
What new jacket fits and pant silhouettes are coming out in 2026/27?
The thirtytwo brand has their finger on the pulse of true snowboard fit, and that can be seen in how we have refined the existing fits in the line for next winter. There is a movement from consumers to have an individualized fit and look. We are hearing this from both retailers our team. thirtytwo is addressing this individualism in snowboard fashion by giving boarders ways to customize their look. The biggest change for thirtytwo on fits and silhouettes as a focus on unisex fit and styling for 2026. Our incredible women’s team that includes Jib Gurl, Jaylen, Ellie and Stefi, and they are wearing a mix of pieces from the entire collection. This speaks to how the line appeals to the entire team regardless of gender. This included adding the new JIB fit, which is Jib Gurl’s custom pant fit. This is our widest, and it has a narrow waist, oversized thigh a straight leg and a shorter inseam. We are offering Relaxed, Boxy and Windbreaker fits in jackets. The pants fits will include Regular, Relaxed, Loose and the Jib (Gurl) fit I mentioned.
Tell us about colours and prints:
thirtytwo has taken rider-input and we always have fun with colours and prints. The collection has a colour palette that includes our core colours, with key seasonal additions like camel and teal, and the return of Y2K styling with plaids, piping and sewn on branding details. Camo is a staple in thirtytwo outerwear, and our takes on tree camo and a classic woodland camo are options our team and retailers requested.
Any *NEW* technical stories with regards to fabrics and materials? How are you addressing sustainability topics, not only in production of your products (materials, transportation, packaging) but also their after-life / repurposing?
A technical and sustainability-focused fabric story is that ThirtyTwo is utilizing 100% recycled 4-way stretch fabric. A 3L version of this fabric is featured on four styles: the T32M XLT Recycled Jacket and pant, as well as the T32M Recycled jacket and pant.
Any trends that your brand is moving away from?
Yes, we are staying away from the super oversized loose fit pants. We remain focused on the core fit for every type of snowboarder, while staying away from fads like oversized clown pants.
What are your big marketing campaigns for 2026/27?
Thirtytwo’s marketing will remain centered around the T32M!!! Look out for marketing centered around the thirtytwo team with their personalized looks and the Jib Gurl 10K Destroy collection.
