Retail Buyers Guide:  Sunglasses S/S 2026 Retail Buyer’s Guide
Brand:  MowMow
Interviewee: Maurits van Zalinge - Founder / Creative Director

How have your sales been in 2025 so far?
2025 has been a breakthrough year. Our Active line (Thor, Athena, Vulcan, Poseidon, Chronos, Freya, Hera, Nike, Minerva, Odin, Triton, Slush, Slide, Stick, Hakuba, Niseko, Myoko, Maui, Oahu, Kauai) continues to lead thanks to its versatility and broad colour range. Premium launches like the SuperHero and Wizard with LuxaLens photochromic technology have strengthened our position in the technical sports eyewear segment.

What are the key trends in sunglasses for board sports for Spring/Summer 2026?

  • Photochromic sports sunglasses: adaptive lenses like LuxaLens are no longer niche, they’re a must-have.
  • Floating sunglasses: strong demand from water sports, with our Floater series answering the call.
  • Lightweight, durable TR-90 frames are now the standard for sports eyewear.
  • Anti-slip rubber patches are becoming essential for active lifestyles, ensuring sunglasses stay secure during movement.
  • Bold yet wearable colours: multiple options per frame family, without carbon-look or lime.
  • Crossover appeal: board sports consumers want sunglasses that work in surf, snow, and street.
  • Sustainability: ongoing shift toward bio-resins, recycled materials, and reduced packaging.

Which segment of your 2025 offering is selling best and why?
The Active segment (led by Thor and Athena) is our bestseller, thanks to its accessible price point, 10+ colour options, and strong crossover styling. The LuxaLens sports line (SuperHero and Wizard) is gaining traction among performance users, while the Titan and Viking frames with XcelLens deliver great value for customers seeking polarised quality without the premium of photochromic.
