Sunski Sunglasses S/S 2026 Preview

Retail Buyers Guide:  Sunglasses S/S 2026 Retail Buyer’s Guide
Brand:  Sunski
Interviewee: Sindre Klepp, Head of Design

How have your sales been in 2025 so far?
Not too bad considering the global economic uncertainties we’ve faced this year.

What are the key trends in sunglasses for board sports for Spring/Summer 2026?
Larger chunkier styles are popping up across more and more industries. Especially large square styles, which we may or may not have in the works 😉

Which segment of your 2025 offering is selling best and why?
We see very strong performance in our premium collection. In this lineup we offer sunglasses with an innovative metal / sustainable plastic combo with high end lenses for a fraction of the cost of what our competitors charge. We also make them super lightweight and comfortable for all-day wear. You can easily run an ultra-marathon in the shades from this collection, even though they may not look like it at first glance. We think the market has seen the value in what we offer and that’s a key reason we’re seeing such strong performance in all our channels.

What frame shapes and colors will you offer in your SS26 collection?
Well, I can’t give too much away here. But as I alluded to earlier, we may or may not have a large square style coming out. We’re also investing in better lenses for our everyday collection, along with expanding our premium collection. The lineup is for sure different to what we currently offer, and will be a nice fresh add to our entire offering.

What materials are you using in your SS26 collection?
We use 100% post industrially recycled Polycarbonate which we’ve developed with a partner ourselves for all our everyday- and Alpine styles. For our higher end products with metal exoskeletons, we use palladium coated and electroplated stainless steel combined with a bio based, more sustainable plastic we’re calling Ultralight.

What lens technologies will you offer in your SS26 collection?
All our lenses are always polarized and we focus on offering lenses that suite the needs of the intended use case; For example our Alpine- and Apex collections all have high quality PC polarized lenses with very low VLT (visible light transmission) to ensure our customers eyes are well protected in the brightest parts of the outdoors.

Which lens colours and tints will you be offering in SS26?
We love how the world looks through our Amber lenses, so we always have lots of those on offer. But our customers all prefer different tints, and some tints don’t look as good with certain frame colors, so we got to make sure we have a wide offering. We have Fade Amber lenses coming our, Forest, a brand new gradient lens as well as some tried and true classics like the G12 forest lenses.

Any new sustainable practices in your production and shipping processes?
Yeah, our factory is switching to more green energy consumption using solar panels as an example. There is a lot of power needed to run a factory, and the greener the energy usage, the better for the overall carbon footprint of the end product. We’ve also started a new program where we use returned products (for example if someone bought two pairs and returned the one they liked the least) to service our warranty fulfilment. Warranty claims are a natural part of running a product company, and we offer a lifetime warranty as we stand by every single product we make, so to be able to use perfectly great returned product, that may have a slight scuff on the packaging, is a much more sustainable way, rather than providing someone with a brand new pair.

What are your SS26 marketing stories?
Nature is the antidote
– This is something we’ve felt true in our hearts for years, that spending time is good for your mind and soul. We’re not meant to spend 4 hours a day doomscrolling down an endless gush of stuff thrown into our face by an algorithm. We have always encouraged adventures outside, small or large, and we’ll amplify that even more in the years to come. What that means to each of us is different, for some it’s going on a stroll in your local park with your dog, for others it’s summitting a remote peak. All of team Sunski also live this lifestyle, and we want to strengthen our community of like-minded people.

How will you support retailers to sell this category?
By creating innovative and eye catching displays as well as deliver every retail store with our message and why we make products for people to go outside.
