West Snowboarding 2024/25 Preview

Retail Buyers Guide:  Snowboards FW24/25 Retail Buyer’s Guide
Brand:  West
Interviewee: David Lambert - Founder

How would you describe the current state of the snowboard market? What big developments, changes, challenges, and/or opportunities are you seeing and how is your brand navigating them?
I see a lot of enthusiastic peoples on the snow which is a good sign for the coming years. I think that snowboard brands should look much more forward and less behind. We are giving more control of the brand to the youngest generation, just because for some things, they know better.

Following overall price increase, any positive developments with regards to manufacturing, sourcing, or logistics and the changes you’ve made? Are there any examples you can share of how your business pivoted effectively? What developments are you seeing with regards to product pricing?
Hopefully the lowcost race which happened these last years will soon be over. We think that it has damaged quite a lot the value of Snowboards and we would be glad if end consumers would be back on buying valuable/qualitative product.

Past last winter and the lack of snow in Europe, what’s your overall sales and production/inventory strategy for 24/25?
After celebrating our 10th Anniversary this current season with more Limited editions, we will be back on a carry-over system for a part of the collection starting on serie 11 (24-25)
