Saleswise, how are the technical boardshorts doing compared to the walkshorts and beachshorts?
Beach shorts are doing extremely well and sales are increasing more in that category than fixed-waist boardshorts even though they are still key pieces in the Rhythm collection.

How has Covid affected your SS21 sell in plans ? (delays/range cancellations/carry over…)
We suffered as all brands did of some delays in the samples delivery. The range has been resized a little to focus on strong product, balancing commercial and fresh and bold new items.

The big highlight of the season is the introduction of a Classics collection in the range with classic style, timeless design and authentic to Rhythm. Whilst priced competitively, the classics collection will be a premium, high quality, timeless collection that will offer great value to the consumer.

What’s hot, what’s not (anymore) for summer 2021? (influences/silhouettes)
As said before, beach short over the knee with elastic band with our retro inspired prints and vintage wash are super hot right now. Our beach shorts feature an elastic waist similar to our walk shorts “Jams” although made from the same fabrication we use in our trunks with mesh pockets, making them ideal to be worn both in and out of the water.

Sizing: boardshorts lengths are going up and down. Do you offer several outseam lengths?
At Rhythm lengths are always over the knee, we offer 2 lengths, 16’’ and 17’’

What is the sweetspot for boardshorts as far as pricepoints are concerned?
Our trunks begin at 60€ with the classic styles.

What colours/patterns will drive the SS21 season?
Rhythm always works with warm, earthy tones and retro inspired prints like paisleys or vintage tropicals.

Polyblends or natural fabrics: what’s your take for SS21?
Polycotton for the majority, some in nylon or cotton canvas

Do you have an eco intiative associated to your boardshorts offer (manufacturing, education programs…)?
In 2020 Rhythm through our product and the way we run our operation will be looking at how we can do things with more consideration. Whether it’s the packaging we use for our garments or selecting natural & sustainable yarns in our fabrics.

All Standard fit T-shirts use organic cotton.
